Do you really not know the context here?
Landry, the newly elected governor, was the AG. One of his employees, Liz Murrill, is now the new AG.
So, yeah.
That said, this doesn't violate any laws. It's just politics. Not great, but not criminal.

It is widely known that she was a political favor for Trump. She worked for SD Governor's campaign, who campaigned for Trump. SD Governor then made her GOP Director in SD. Now Landry made her a secretary to thank Trump. Literally everyone in political circles knows this.

I'm under no illusions that a biologist or someone was going to be the secretary... and honestly, maybe they don't have the ability to run a department.
And given this department's past issues, I'm ok with an outsider.
But I would have thought it would be someone who has some experience in running a large operation.
This lady has run a small state's GOP party.
People with money will know how to get to her... since her past experiene is raising money.
I mean, why not go to Texas, Florida, MS, etc, find out who their number 2 or number 3 person is in the wildlife department there, and hire them away?

I know nothing about this person or if she will be a good leader but good leaders done have to know everything, that have to understand what they don’t know and surround themselves with people who understand those thing and can assist in decision making.

Managing Louisiana's wildlife is highly regarded. To hand it off as a political favor to someone with no experience is frustrating. Look at the rest of Landry's hires without red glasses. Had high hopes, took one month to gash those.

quote:My understanding is that the LDWF secretary’s job is more navigating the politics and operation of the department, not so much making the decisions that impact the actual fish and wildlife in the state. Those decisions go to the Wildlife and Fisheries commissioners to vote on after recommendations from LDWF biologists and public input
She knows nothing about salt water intrusion, nothing about coastal erosion, has never seen a redfish, knows nothing about vanishing wetlands, never caught a speckled trout

Political deal making, Landry is just like all others in that regard
Anyone who grew up or lived in Louisiana knows this all too well and will never change! Louisiana is very 'special' when it comes to politics!

Jeff Landry is MAGA so Louisiana should have nothing to worry about, right?

I notice the Landry butthole sniffers are mum on him appointing Cedric Richmond to a post.

It all depends. What does she look like? Is she an OT 10?
