Governor-elect Jeff Landry has named 26-year-old Madison Sheehan to serve as Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Sheahan most recently served as director of South Dakota's Republican Party. “She's worked on legislation relating to wildlife, agriculture, and natural resources.
She knows nothing about salt water intrusion, nothing about coastal erosion, has never seen a redfish, knows nothing about vanishing wetlands, never caught a speckled trout. South Dakota and Louisiana have NOTHING in common.
Landry has fumbled on first and goal.

We need to see if she’s a smoke show before we can say it’s a complete fumble. If she’s really hot and he just wants to plow it for a few months the. I think it may have been a home run hire for him. I don’t have a problem with it.

Well when older folks aren't getting the job done, new blood is needed. Tempered expectations here for me.

I understand having the need for a long list resume for jobs like this, but perhaps this might work if she surrounds herself with a solid team.

I’ve said all along that Landry was mostly phony, and that will prove to be the case with tort reform and some other hot button issues. Just keep your eyes open.

Oh she’s a smokeshow.

If you’re into Trevor Lawrence, that is.

No one in Louisiana qualified for this role?

This seems really odd. What’s the connection?

Nope.

Previous discussion a little while ago about this. Commentary then apparently was that this position has historically been a political favor type of thing - in other words she’s not the first wholly unqualified person to hold the post. Still…it’s a shame that this appears to be more business as usual.

Shame, you baws have some of the greatest natural resources and best outdoors stuff in the country... You really need someone competent running that department and not an appointed political hack...

He’s fumbled every possession so far. Putting Dems on committees, etc…. Playing nice vs Marxist who would never do the same. Cedric Richmond on superdome commission, etc…. He’ll roll over for the lawyers and his cronies. RINOs and LABI idiots throughout Louisiana politics. It’s no win in a state with more resources than most. Complete sellouts

This matters little for the secretary....the damn secretary is going to meet people, kiss babies, raise funds for solving the issues you mention, and get the state legislature to fund the same.

You need scientists, engineers, and real working people to solve the issues you are discussing...not a politician.

Landry's entire cabinet is a political favor. I've never seen a less-impressive staff and I'm a Saints fan.
