Nobody can replace Trump the candidate - he is unique as hell. But the 3 frontrunners all seem so run-of-the-mill and boring. Rubio can communicate, but he lacks fire and almost comes off as childish at times. Vance is smart as hell but leans too intellectual. DeSantis, who I prefer right now, comes off as whiney and below the job.

It will be yough for any of them to keep the Trump coalition going. Rubio might be best just because of Hispanic inroads?

Vance will be able to respond by pointing out differences he articulated while serving as VP … so it won't simply be abstract.

I hope JD and Trump discuss this offstage and remember the way of the kayfabe in public.

Who in the hell would vote for Ted Cruz?

His time has passed. I hope he is challenged the next go round.

Reports indicate that Vance advised against attacking Iran. If it's still a mess 12 months from now, he sure as hell better not still be supporting Trump's "overseas stuff" if he wants to be elected.

He can’t break with Trump publicly he has to have his endorsement to avoid a bloody primary fight with Rubio.

If Trump backs Rubio JD will have a knife fight to win the primary and everyone saw how vindictive the MAGA base was when DeSantis dared to go his own way. Those scars still haven’t healed and it could cause a full break between AF and MAGA which would jeopardize the general.

That’s the tv drama version. Real life version, likely nowhere close.

JD Vance breaks against Iran and Trump doesn’t endorse him… what do you see happening next?

You don’t think Rubio with Trumps backing could win?

It would be GOPe + MAGA.

Trump is a petty guy with a long memory. Everything you see and hear tells me he likes Rubio a lot more than he likes Vance.

I still don’t think Trump will step aside without some theatrics, though. That 3rd term shite is a joke… until it isn’t

I bet you think Vance is “weird,” and fricks couches, huh?

Bubba, I’ll say this. The boy wears womens eyeliner. I don’t think he’s the maga macho bald eagles and monster trucks patriot symbol you hope he can be.

Vance is the most obvious grifter. I get having reservations about Rubio, too, but I have zero trust in Vance. I wish Desantis hadn't committed political suicide by running against Trump, because he's the one candidate with an actual good governing record.

He’s completely transactional and once he views you as betraying him you’re dead to him.

How many fired cabinet people has he made peace with? None.

Vance can have a public break with Trump over Iran or his endorsement, he’s not going to get both.

I’m very confident he’ll continue doing what he’s been doing which is staying quiet publicly and working like crazy behind closed doors to get a deal made but I don’t see Israel or Iran agreeing or maintaining a deal for long because neither suits their purposes.

Israel wants Iran in a permanent civil war to destabilize a regional threat and Iran has too much leverage currently to agree to a deal that Trump would sign or Israel would adhere to.

And since the US self evidently cannot or will not force Israel to maintain a deal the dance will go on.

Possibly but the reason Vance was chosen as VP was because of Don Jr who is close to him.

Unless something has changed, Vance and Don jr look to be the plan.
Trump will endorse early and it’ll essentially be over
