JD Vance remains the Republican Party's clear frontrunner for the Republican nomination in 2028.
A new Daily Mail/JL Partners poll shows Vance holding a strong lead over every other potential contender, cementing his status as the candidate to beat as the GOP begins looking ahead to the next presidential race that will kick off shortly after the midterms.
Vance stands at 48 percent among Republican primary voters, down three points, but remains far ahead of his closest rival, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who has climbed three points to 18 percent.
Rubio has said publicly he would not challenge Vance in a primary.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is next at 12 percent, up three points, while Texas Senator Ted Cruz sits at 5 percent, down one point.
The Vice President's dominance becomes even more apparent in a head-to-head matchup with Rubio, where Vance leads 60 percent to 29 percent.

Who in the hell would vote for Ted Cruz?

Probably a Fox News boomer who watches Hannity every night.

Good! I would much prefer Vance over Rubio.
I don't trust Rubio. I would rather have Rubio as Vice President.

Vance for president
Don't want Rubio as VP. He's a neocon warmonger at this point.

Rubio is going to switch to the private sector, make a ton of money working deals with Trump and others, and then slide in as president after JD finished up his 8 years.

Recently Vance has been saying things that do not back Trump 100%. I believe this is by design. Kamala choked (pun intended) when asked, "What would you do differently from Biden?" She thought hard and responded "nothing." It was not and never is a good answer.
Vance will be able to respond by pointing out differences he articulated while serving as VP … so it won't simply be abstract.

That could be a good ticket. I prefer Vance to pick his own running mate as he obviously will. It doesn't need to be someone else who is a front runner for the republican nomination. That's not how it usually works.

Not 100% sold on Vance but he's 10x any Democratic Socialist candidate.

My only concern with Vance is he is a bit too chummy with the tech bros. But that ship has probably sailed. We've allowed the tech overlords to exert too much power over society going back to the Obama administration and it doesn't look like anything is changing no matter who is in office.

Many share your concern.

Fingers crossed that Rubio and Vance stick together in 28. It would be best for the US.
