A MAGA Trumpster complaining about purity tests and admonishing anyone for not being tolerant of differences is nothing short of hilarious.
He isn't really off base with his message though

Oh so you’re one of those “if you’re not Catholic you’re not a Christian” types.

We're sorry your retarded thread isn't going the way you want it too. Maybe you'll get him next time.

As a practicing Christian Catholic, I couldn't personally be married to somebody with religious views that different from mine.
However, there are several couples in our church where one spouse practices faith and one doesn't, or practices another religion altogether. A lot of them are great people, and it seems to work with them.
I'm much prefer that and then a couple who both practices religious Marxist DEI. Now that's a scary religion!

He isn’t, but it’s funny coming from him, because he engages in the exact same type of activity. Most of this board does.

If asking for a basic level of “American-ism” and assimilation is a purity test, so be it
This is not America. This should not represent my country.

It would not work for me, but I don’t care to be honest. My grandmother was Protestant and converted to Catholicism in her 60s. She raised all her kids Catholic. Of course my Grandfather was Catholic so he insisted on raising his kids Catholic as the wedding vows stated. I wouldn’t be here today if my grandfather thought like me, lol. No way I’d have married anything else but a Catholic. I’m not looking for fights about faith in my marriage.

Yeah. It's my opinion that people that engage in that are the real ones with "TDS"

Also, I delegated the running of my household, and I focused on more remunerative things.

I like GLT.
I don't know what to tell him on this. Yes, it is odd that a borderline Christian Nationalist has an unconverted Hindu wife.
But it's hard to imagine we'll have a better shot at getting postlib ideas into the WH in the future. I'm pretty close to saying Vance is one of the few remaining, legitimate hopes for any sort of near term course correction. I have no delusions of grandeur, I just think it's unlikely we have anyone who has any investment in the things people like I (and to some extent, GLT) care about with this proximity to power for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, makes zero sense. Even ignoring the fact that you’d have to believe your spouse is going to hell.
Also can’t expect JD Vance to do anything about the ongoing Indian takeover.

Naw, he's way off.
I'm not saying that who J.D. Vance chose to marry is any reason to not vote for the guy, but that's not really what he railed against.
What he railed against is people voting according to principles and values.
If you don't vote according to those things and you disregard Constitutionality and law when you act, o.k. great, you won.
What did you win?
Well, you won the temporary upper hand in a society that has now had its rule of law degraded a little more (and therefore that much easier for your opponent to wiggle through the same hole in the fence when they regain footing, which they inevitably will.) You won bragging rights in a situation in which applying the lack of values and principles in a way that you like and approve of today will be applied differently by your opponent tomorrow, and it will be in a way that you don't like.
That's what he argued for. And it's 8 year old thinking, incapable of delaying gratification or thinking more than one step ahead.
