If we're out of oysters how can I 86 them, unless 86 means "get more"?

I think it meant, "Take them off the menu." As in, "We're out of oysters, so 86 the oyster stew!"

But, "It's not about the law at all, it's just about Trump getting revenge for someone hurting his feelings or making him angry" is not o.k.

The fact that MAGA has no regard for the rule of law or the constitution and apparently wants the US to become a bannana republic is a problem.

Do you really deny that Comey was expressing support for killing Trump?

It’s not about that. It’s making sure that going forward everyone who is thinking of getting in the way of Trump’s mandate to rule this country the way the voters want, thinks twice about getting in his way

It meant "take them off the menu (don't let people order them) since we're out of them" during my illustrious restaurant career.

And like all the previous times this will go nowhere...

It doesn’t matter. Do you have any idea how expensive it is to defend oneself against the Feds?

Even if Comey wins, he loses.

He is going to burn through so much cash defending himself that he will feel extreme pain.

Additionally, the emotional toll on he and his family from this- no matter what they portray to the contrary- will be immense.

Even if he ultimately wins…he loses.

I like it with a conviction or without.

frick Jim and his family.

86-remove from tonight’s special list usually as the special sold out.

Bleeds over to 86 pickles because we are out of pickles

But Comey was most certainly using the double meaning knowing he’d get away with it.

Comey is an actual TDS patient after all

Are they referring to the Sea Shell thing?

If so that's quite a reach

Yep. People supporting this are not fans of free speech. This is the biggest reach ever. Arranging seashells into the #86 gets you 20 years in prison for threatening to kill the president. Thats wild

On one hand, yes, there’s no way this isn’t just a big waste of time and money.

On the other hand, we both know what Comey was doing by posting the photo.

I don't remember the timing. If he was, then I'm fine with it.

But that's not what the poster to whom I replied said. He specifically said (fairly tight paraphrase), "It's not about justice, it's about Trump getting revenge on anybody who crosses him."

The only good lawfare is apparently the lawfare done for the chosen team

Would it be different if the shells spelled out Kill Donald Trump, in your opinion?

Yes, if you believe you've been wronged, you get at least one lawfare. Board lawyahs can fill us in on the details.

Well, he definitely was.

Now, expressing a desire for the President to be assassinated may not actually be a crime. I don't think you can assume he was openly threatening Trump.

If people were reasonable about this, they would acknowledge the truth that he was referencing assassination.

Then a reasonable argument could be had about whether he was actually calling for it (dog whistle) or just expressing a desire for a terrible event because he dislikes Trump so much.
