Dude, what are you talking about.....they never made Bond anywhere near a villain in the Daniel Craig movies, they just made him a more complicated character and having to deal with complicated characters and situations.
The franchise itself has run waaaay past the original Ian Fleming books since Pierce Brosnan / Timothy Dalton...even Roger Moore and A View to Kill. Other than the "remake " of Casino and Quantum of Solace which was a collection of Bond short stories. We've been largely off Fleming since The Living Daylights.

Bond's race is incredibly unimportant to the character. If he's British, attracrive, charming, cold blooded, and darkly funny, he can be Bond.
If they went black and then wrote some race baiting victimhood in his origin story, then I'd be annoyed.

They don’t have guns. They do have a lot of stabbing. All he’s doing is speculating that some of the knives used don’t need such a sharp point to do their intended job (slicing vs stabbing). It may be a silly suggestion, but to use that as saying he’s some some sort of extreme “woke” dude?

I swear to God, the eagerness of people to find SOMETHING to bitch about just amazes me.

There are plenty of white brit actors to fill the role. I'm just of the belief that excluding an otherwise great option just because of guy's skin color seems unnecessary for this particular character.

Oh, and Connery and Moore were both over 6' but book Bond was 5'10, 190.
