What a terrible move by him. For a guy that was so smart in so many ways, he totally misjudged the way this war would go. I’m not sure if Venezuela gave him a false sense of security that we could just waltz in and take Iran, but whoever was advising him needs to be fired.

The economy is in the toilet, the housing market is dropping like a rock, gas prices are crazy high, and he’s handing the Democrats the midterms on a silver platter.

Make no mistake - if Republicans lose the House in November, the Iran war will go down as one of the biggest mistakes in presidential history and will ultimately wind up as Trump’s Vietnam.

I consider myself and my friends average American conservatives. None of us care about the 2020 election or a lot of the things that seem to distract Trump daily. We all want the government out of our lives as much as possible, low taxes, low interest rates, low gas prices, no pointless regulation, no pointless wars. These are things Trump promised us and he’s not delivering on any of it.

With each hollow threat of retribution for Iran, Trump (and the USA) looks smaller and smaller. I really hate it, because I was ecstatic when he won, but I’m just done trying to defend him.

Who visited the White House seven times in the run up to the war? Fire that guy.

It was a big mistake. He was fooled by the Israelis and he should have known better. But don’t be so dramatic.

It really is unfathomable how these supposed smart people get sucked into this shite.

No new wars ------ but wait, this country who has been a thorn in our side for 50 years needs to be attacked NOW!!!!!!

It wouldn't be an issue if he hadn't been stymied by the GOP Senate thebwhole time.

Then why did y’all nominate him? Plenty of conservative candidates could have delivered the priorities you listed post Biden, but folks went with the guy who’s on a personal revenge tour about his grievances instead.

Nobody advises Trump, he does his own thing and he's surrounded by sycophants, if they don't tow the Trump line, they'll be shown the door. If anybody thinks Trump listens to Hegseth, I've got beachfront property in Nebraska for sale.

Trump 2 has been a bad joke. He’s so out of touch he’s giving stump speeches on how higher costs are just a small price to pay to stop Iran.

Remember kids, if you don't like foreign quagmire wars, you're not a real conservative and were certainly never MAGA.

I've seen that from this board *a lot* in the last few months.

Trump 2.0 has done nothing on affordability, nothing on worsening demographic trends, nothing on H1Bs, and nothing on the rise of the surveillance state/AI datacenters. But if you're disappointed in him, you were never MAGA to begin with.

Gas prices are high I suppose, not really when compared to inflation in general though.

But how is the economy in the toilet? S&P 500 is at an all time high.

Housing market is perfectly fine. It was going to rebound to some degree when things went stupid during Covid. Its not really anything but that. Many markets are still setting all time highs.
