Part of the plot of the 2012 movie, Headhunters, involves putting a nano gel into a person's hair so they could be tracked.

Discovered in the 1930s by the British and used by the Soviets/Russians to track people in Russia.

Okay then I guess what's the tracking mechanism? Because tracking can mean a lot of different things.
I read the OP as they were picking the guy up on GPS or satellite

It most likely is, just to further the paranoia. Mohammeds all over the region are furiously scrubbing the goat hip hair off their hands.

No kidding.
The main tactical value to Israel’s pager attacks was sowing terror. The problem here is terror attacks — even if committed by allies — indiscriminately sows terror.
While many here whooped and high-fived over the sophistication and long-range planning of the operation, these pager attacks raise chilling implications for global trade since most all modern communication devices have components sourced from foreign entities. It can only deepen mistrust and sow discord in international trade since it illustrates the vulnerability of critical infrastructures in the global supply chain.

No country is that far ahead technologically that a device could not be detected ON YOUR OWN HAND.
You're talking about a battery and transmitter smaller than a flea. Nope
Cool.story...but it's propaganda
No Time to Die. The latest Bond flick was not entirely science fiction.
Just saying...

I think this isn’t true, it’s just to scare the hell out of the enemy

It’s much more likely that they have a paid source within Hezbollah. This also explains how they were able to intercept their electronic device supply chain.

Love that they give no sources to back this up.

Why just leave this story at nanites that track?
If you're gonna make something up, why not make them give him a heart explosion?

Let me get this straight - the Joos have some type of pixie dust that allow as little as a few grains to be passively tracked anywhere. They then deploy it up close, personal and covertly, track their target and then missile an entire building in order to kill him.
Instead of rubbing him with any one of the myriad of toxic agents (known and unknown) and simply poison the guy.

You want to take him and a bunch of people around him out, visibly, while they're scrambling and trying hard to avoid being seen or caught. In short, you want to completely unnerve and rattle the entire organization.
Like what was said a week ago, you want Hezbollah (and the Iranians) afraid to use their microwaves and toasters, much less try to mount an organized attack or resistance. And yeah, the more disinformation the better, and the more they fear your reach the better.
