The official added that the strikes were more successful than Israel had anticipated. According to the source, air defense systems and ballistic missiles that were intended for use against Israel were preemptively targeted.

Reminder that the idf and mossad, who had fully co-opted Hamas/iran’s communications networks several years earlier, claims they had no clue 10/7 was going to happen.

The tinfoil at the back of the head does acknowledge that of those who were killed on October 7, it was almost exclusively the most liberal/leftist in Israel - I could see guys like Bibi or Gvir thinking it would be an acceptable loss to justify the war they wanted
My gut says that it was just a systematic failure on their part. Israel always gets caught with their pants down because they have so many religious holidays where they are mandated to "rest", and the muslims always attack on said holidays
