Folks can try to remake history, but Jindal is the worst governor ever in Louisiana.
Edwards and Huey were corrupt and Uncle Earl was crazy, but all had significant accomplishments.
With Jindal, it was just destruction.

Does Kentucky count as the south? They were fence sitters in the war.

I am ok if people didn’t like Jindal. I think there is fair criticism. I would only say if you voted for Blanco or JBE you have no credibility to criticize.

I am not saying that you, MightyYat, fall in that category. I just know a ton of people that complain about Jindal only to vote for people like Blanco and JBE.

No, that was Bill Clements.

Ferguson was back in the early 20th century. So since he couldn't win, he had his wife (Ma Ferguson) run and "govern" two non-consecutive terms.

The state literally ran a KKK member against a guy in jail.

Louisiana voters had a very clear alternative to Edwards in two elections. Can't let the voters off the hook.

David Duke? So a convict or the grand wizard of the KKK. I voted 3rd party that election.

You can’t vote third party in a runoff.

Ronny Musgrove was a horrible Governor in MS. I’m not sure where he falls in the spectrum of the South, but he was bad. Truth be told, Phil Bryant, MS’s most recent Governor was horrible too. He left the executive agencies in shambles.

Louisiana seems to have the market cornered on bad governors though. They take it to a whole new level.

When Foster may be the best you’ve had, then it’s bad.

Bill Clinton was not a typical "southern Democrat"

you know that

Clinton was a sexual deviant that was allowed to continue to abuse woman by the woman around him that empowered him. If that does not qualify as the worse governor in the history of the south, I am not sure what does. That look you get when all your past crimes are thrown into your face at a national presidential debate.

JBE isn’t even the worst Governor in Louisiana history.

JBE is the third worst Louisiana Governor behind Huey Long and Edwin Edwards.

JBE is only in office because he was lucky enough to run against two GOP candidates that did everything they could possibly do to lose the election and voters chose not to make a rational and pragmatic choice to go with the flawed guy that best represented their political and financial interests.

It’s still disappointing to this day watching so many people that call themselves conservative vote not once but twice for a snake oil salesman in JBE.

He used the state's property tax system to systematically steal thousands upon thousands of acres of private land which he funneled to his family's own land corporation that leased it to oil and gas exploration companies and made a fortune. That's right, they stole entire homesteads and farms from families based on just a few cents in unpaid taxes, often based on an accounting error without ever notifying the families that they owed any money until they came to seize the land.

The next republican candidate for Louisiana Governor should make it a campaign promise to blow up Huey Long’s statue in front of the statehouse and melt it down for rebar at a state prison.

Mike Foster was probably the only governor in my lifetime that wasn’t horrible, and he might suck when compared to other state’s governors. He just looks outstanding when compared to ours.

Uh false.

In 2015, JBE’s republican voters constantly made the case time and time over again that JBE is a conservative and is very conservative for a Democrat and he was not going to raise taxes at all and will be a game manager type of Governor.

They were presented empirical evidence of JBE’s liberal voting record, who he voted for (Obama and Hillary) who supports JBE and his complete lack of a campaign platform on his website. Vitter voters like myself were warning them that JBE is a fraudulent con artist and we’re right today.

Those “conservatives” didn’t want to hear it and went all in on that snake oil salesman because they couldn’t stand Vitter.

Elections have consequences. Those morons should understand that after watching the last 4.5 years of JBE.

I am not a Governor Bumpyhead supporter. And I’m ashamed of Louisiana for giving this arsehole two terms.

But the worse in the history of the South? C’mon man! He’s not even the worse in Louisiana history.

Working our way back:
Kathleen “Babeling Blank-Stare” fiddled while Louisiana flooded.
Edwin “ The Crook” Edwards sold millions in political favors and pardons.
Earl “K(razy)” Long, Uncle to all but especially Starr.
O K Allen, Huey’s bitch.
Huey “P(ay me)” Long, everything in Louisiana is for sale except your state job. That’s for rent. Pay me every Friday.
Henry “C(arpetbagger)” Warmoth, you can call it Reconstruction but this Yankee just raped and ravished defenseless Louisiana.
