Not at all. It’s a product of bad US policy over the last 50 years.
What fascinates me more is that the two entities, each born in their modern forms from the ideological struggle between communism and western capitalism, are now both on a similar socioeconomic trajectory towards their “opposite” ideology.
What sucks for us Americans is that China is the only one playing the long game. The Chinese use strategy, we use tactics.

all the climate BS is just weakening our economy. Even if you believe it, everything we do is pointless without China and India on board, and they aren't in any way that matters.

Every generation becomes convinced that their country is in moral decline once they get old. I'm sure I will too once I get to boomer age. Somehow the US continues to be a great place to live and thrive.

China is ascending in what exactly? The fact that they have a technically larger GDP is irrelevant because their per capita GDP is abysmal. Their population is far too large for resources as is India. They are not a self sustained nation meaning they have to import quite a large percentage of fossil fuels and their military is essentially untested. Their government structure is far too rigid to allow for real wealth to be created by the average citizen. The US certainly has it’s flaws but your understanding of China might be more flawed
