I do not understand the outrage of flock cameras If you own, carry and use a cell phone daily.

Who pays for them?
More importantly...who gets kickbacks for paying for them?
It's not that hard to figure out.

I've been against ALPRs for a while but they have been around for decades now.
I'm at the point that not enough people fought against the surveillance state years ago that's it's too late.

Business opportunity. Good sales job by Flock Safety to the people who bought their product.

What a GOPe quote.
“I don’t value my freedoms so you don’t get yours either.”
If you don’t understand how these are going to be used listening to the WEF you’re not worth arguing with.

I support them. It's a great way to engineer out crime. If people know they are going to get caught they will think twice before doing it. It will help people to not make stupid choices. It will also reduce the amount of time for law enforcement to solve crimes. Most importantly, it will hold cops accountable if they misuse the system.

We have a shite ton of them installed down south in the Gulf Shores/OBA areas.
Same on 30A/PCB area despite virtually zero crime.
It’s not even remotely about stopping crime or else the cameras would be in different areas and those areas would have lower crime rates, it’s 100% about putting in place what they need to run a modern surveillance state which is why it was never even put out for public debate even in red areas.

When I think about the 20,000 kids and seniors they have helped find, I can't help but be in support of them. Maybe I am a little different, but if someone is that bored to follow my simple life, go ahead.
Can it be misused? Sure. How about we start coming down harder on the people that are caught misusing it? But, you don't think people can hack business surveillance and ring cameras to follow you?

Do you own a house? Have a camera at it?

Actually, no and no... sold the house years ago . I did buy a camera for the front but did not install it yet.
Not sure why security on my property is the same as 400,000 cameras monitoring your every movement.
And, no I do not have or use any of those fancy indoor apple or google things to connect everything and spy on you.
Just remember all the freedom we lost after 9-11 in the name of safety. That is how they win.

Only thing black folks care about not wanting is shot spotter. Pretty sure most in the hood don't even know what flock is.

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety

to el Gaucho's point, the camera can't tell them apart, so they don't care.

Trump wasn't a criminal either, political intimidation is where flock can go sideways in a hurry.

The power of Flock Cameras is like that of Guns and AI. Good if employed by good guys but bad if bad guys.
Being that the subjective nature of who/which ideology is in control of Formal Government power is in serious question as ‘voting’ (via illegal ballot harvesting) loses credibility, who knows how it shakes out. Likely that the Side (Capitalism v Socialism) that is most ruthless and willing to kill and die for their Cause will triumph. That is the historical norm, and there is little reason that current comfort and relative affluence for one side (Capitalism) can long afford to assuage the lack of ‘Equality’(DEI) on the other (Socialism) by open ended Debt and rampant inflation.
Big change coming any way we cut it.

It's complicated issue. On one hand, it can be a great tool to determine guilt if it captures a crime or could be a deterrent to crime. On the other hand, it can be a great tool to falsely accuse someone because they were on the camera near a crime.

Wait until the next lockdown and you'll see.
