the status quo of 5 weeks ago
Well, a little over 5 weeks ago, Iran had an air force and a navy with a seasoned leadership contingent which included a veteran spiritual leader. They even had police stations, IRGC compounds underground, and a citizenry living in fear.
That has completely changed.

MAGA mouthpiece tells me we caved. That dude is only good at lying.

So what was the point of all this? I’m genuinely asking because I’m having a hard time not being pissed about this ceasefire
Trump gave the European Union and hostile European countries who have been trying to sabotage the US a reprieve but allowing energy to head back their way. It was a direct shot at all
Of these countries for defying the US for years on Iran and allowing them to do whatever they wanted. Now they know they can’t frick with the US any longer. Also creates a transactional alliance of sorts with Latin & South America with China in tow.
You just witnessed a massive global geopolitical shift with the US firmly in control.

So we are getting an open Straight of Hormuz like we had before we lit billions on fire and lost 6 soldiers? So what was the point of all this? I’m genuinely asking because I’m having a hard time not being pissed about this ceasefire
The point of it all was our military got pantsed thinking they could keep the strait open with the Navy and the Air Force.

and lost 6 soldiers?
I simply don’t understand how the above is any type of point to be made.
I’d love to completely maximize the safety of every American in every imaginable situation one can even face. But people die. Especially people who sign up for the military. HUNDREDS of soldiers die each year during training. Should we stop training?
Folks, please be mature and recognize that I’m not attempting to downplay the loss of life.

The point of all of this has always been quite clear: Iran can never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.
Yeahhh, they were sooooo close so many times.
Shut up, Bibi

For one, we killed the Ayatollah and severely decapitated Iranian military in 35 days
we took out multiple tiers of their religious, military and civilian leadership
we destroyed their navy, air force and they spent most of their missiles
we defeated their air defenses in days
now the mission of toppling the regime from the inside can begin

In fact we just allowed Iran to essentially say that they own the straight.
Winning
Winning

We stopped a war 5 weeks in because we couldn’t keep a strait open with our military.
They won, we lost. They’ll rebuild everything and now have permanent leverage.

Yes.
Do you think we attacked Iran over an open Strait of Hormuz?
Posted on 4/7/26 at 7:49 pm to KiwiHead
iran can say what they want
that is how propaganda works
that is how propaganda works

Everything stays the same except that now Iran knows what it takes to fight the US. And they get to keep their uranium and keep their missiles? But they caved? Stop brother, you’re embarrassing yourself.

If I was going to make a brief summary.....I think Trump 2.0 signaled to Iran while I'm in office the FAFO Doctrine will be in effect.

Only a master deal maker could achieve the status quo of 5 weeks ago in exchange for accomplishing nothing of value and turning his country into a global pariah.
If you are truly dumb enough to believe this nothing told to you could be understood by you.
Sad…

the strait was always open, it has to be de-mined to be truly safe and for goods to be insurable
that will be a stipulation, de-mining the strait and not allowing it to be mined again
there are hundreds of drone mines tethered to the sea floor, if iran refuses to allow them to be permanently removed then back to bombing them we go
