No, I understand the difference between being an invader and a liberator.

A liberator is highly likely to succeed.

An invader is highly like to fail.

You think things like "put boots on the ground" is just about making a call. What you don't understand is the Iran has about the worst terrain in the world when it comes to being an invader. Much worse than Afghanistan even. It's full of mountains and our tanks can't even shoot up that high, while at the same time exposing their weakest points.

We spent all those years in Afghanistan and failed. Could not accomplish the goal and the Taliban stayed there. In better terrain and conditions, with trillions of dollars of support and boots on the ground. Didn't matter. Because we were invaders, not liberators.

Same thing with Iraq. Easier in every way, turned out a failure.

And yet now you suddenly believe we're going to defeat a country that has the population of Iraq and Afganistan combined, the worst terrain and conditions out of all of them, AND a direct link to Russia which can't be blockaded if they decide to get involved further in response to us proxy warring with them in Ukraine.

We have a military more than capable of defending ourselves from any country in the world. But we do not have a military or the resources to go invade countries and keep them invaded. Unless you plan to enslave the entire population and taking over their resources to pay for it.

Iran isn't trying to take us over, their conditions for winning are much lower.

You can't possibly believe the only geopolitical value Taiwan has to China is its chip-making ability. However, if you do then you might want to take a seat during geopolitical discussions.
