I think it means they were playing grab arse in the sea of Oman and the wind pushed them off course. The had to ride the tide and ended up near the Panama Canal.

How are the supporting a naval operation that far from the PG? Cuba supporting them?

That Tweet links to an Iranian admiral puffing out his chest. The reality is that they have maybe four ships that could even REACH the Panama Canal, much less deploy there.
Their most-intimidating (LoL) ship is 60% the size of a typical US destroyer ... from WW2.
The Iranian Navy is designed for coastal defense. They have exactly NINE ships that could laughingly be categorized as "deep water navy." One of them was laid-down in ... I kid you not ... 1936.
Iran is not a threat to the Panama Canal.
