re: Instead of talking about the flag why aren't we talking about the issue behind the protest

The protesters do not care about the facts. They want you to bow to their feelings, irrespective of facts.

Anybody who signals in solidarity with these stupid assholes is also a stupid a-hole.

I'm going to take a different tack with you today.

Ok. Let's say you are 100% correct. What is your solution? How would you, BamaATL, fix the problem?

326 whites
165 blacks

How are black males disproportionately killed again? I see a smaller number so I’m confused.

Do the protesters and their supporters actually want to have an honest conversation about the "issues" motivating the kneelers as they say, which means listening to counter arguments and defending their claims? I contend that they don't and that this issue is completely unresolvable as a result.

Correct. They want to make these statements for their own self aggrandizement.

Like I've seen someone say - If the cops want dead black people, they would just stop patrolling the hood.

Well just like those that protest and shutdown speakers who they don't agree with. This is not a discussion. Kneeling throws out a statement with no dialogue or chance for any meeting of the minds. Add in that they decided to use disrespecting the flag and anthem and you get animosity to them as a whole.

You don't get to intentionally disrespect a sacred institution for the purpose of getting attention...and then complain when those who are offended don't listen to your issue.

It's that simple. The protest was laughably misdirected. It was a scorched earth approach that was intentional. People are rightfully pissed.

Agree with all this, which is why I find the claims that anyone is running from discussing the actual issue so laughable. I don't see how any resolution can occur here when one side is so disgustingly dishonest about the other, which is to mask the fact that they refuse to acknowledge any viewpoint but their own.

Would Mr. Kaepernick be interested in sitting down and having a televised discussion on the issue with someone who disagrees with his claims? Would it even matter to the kneelers? I don't see the ends to their methods.

But is it disproportionate amount of black men shot by WHITE police?

The problem is they have framed this entire argument over race, when the bigger issue is excessive force used by police in general. They don't seem to care when a black kid is shot by a black cop (happened a year or so ago in Houma of all places). They dont seem to care when a group of cops bust into the wrong house and kill an old white man (happened fairly recently in Georgia).

Police are out of control everywhere, and by just focusing on race, they lose a lot of potential supporters.

A disproportionate number of men are killed by cops.

Why don't you care that white men are killed more often than white women?

Should we protest this also?

My question is why are conservatives pretending like the part they take exception with is that its the anthem... When in reality it seems that it is the cause itself that enrages them... Feels a bit disingenuous...

Yeah I see where 161 more white people were shot by police so I am confused by the argument being shoved down my throat every day

No. They want to lecture and then have acquiescence.

It can't possibly be that different people react to different things, eh?

yep.

in 2016: 466 white to 233 black.
in 2015: 497 white to 259 black.

that argument of his is completely ignorant.

Ive seen this argument play out on here for days over and over. Hell, just last night i had to trade posts with you for an hour before realizing that your actual issue with the whole thing is that you think racism is a myth.
