That's easily verified as false. The Grok response underneath says that Etna has released approximately 90,000 tons of CO2 in the last 3 days, but Europe has reduced CO2 emissions by 1 billion tons per year. It's not even close.
In other words, Europe has reduced emissions by about 25%. Etna typically emits 5 million tons per year. So if Etna didn't exist Europe could have reduced CO2 by 25.5%. It's not really a factor.

What used to work is that once a year, two identical unblemished goats were selected… lots were cast… one was released to the demon imprisoned there, and the other was sacrificed to the volcano god as forgiveness of their sins.
