Trump is going to get Iran to come to the table any day now and soften some of the concern driving this. I am sure of it. Just have to win the war for the 47th time

Also, no doubt printing $1.5 trillion to hand everyone $5K will not at all cause this to go higher

Plays right into the global oligarch utopian plan. Push people out of single family dwellings and back into overcrowded urban tenements. Keep them poor, keep them ignorant, keep them dependent and scared.

That's most of human history. Some never wanted that to change. It's why commies and capitalist elite all have one thing very much in common... they absolutely loathe a middle class.

We are supposed to blindly follow and not acknowledge that so far Trump has been terrible economically?

I support his attack on many things. Especially immigration and securing elections, but he deserved to be called out for getting us tangled up with Iran and wanting to hand out more free money to people.

If you can’t afford a house you’re not middle class. The problem is bowing down to the lower class and $15/hr. Can’t believe people are shocked prices are up as wages are.

And under the last two administrations how much has your house value went up? Bet you don’t complain about that.

Actually, I have. I have been pointing out for years here that the rise in housing costs outpacing wages the way it has is going to come to a head. I think many people can vouch that I have been ringing that bell for a long time.

Don't forget that I own rentals too, so cheering on a leveling or pullback in home pricing hurts my net worth a lot more than the average person but I still have been saying it needs to happen to let wages catch up.

Now, when wages are sort of catching up, we have insane gas prices and the highest mortgage rates in nearly 20 years, and a lot of it can be linked to getting into a war for no reason.

Rent is thru the roof at all time highs with most being occupied. You seem to be doing well in this terrible economy…

Where I am at is a rent bubble because of the LNG construction that was going to happen no matter what.

Same thing happened after the hurricanes, and the same thing is about to happen in Kaplan and Abbeville.

Has nothing to do with anything Trump did.

No shite but you’re the one complaining about it. You have your asset being paid off and going up in value at the same time while complaining about the economy. Insanity, pal.

Enjoy living in the world you helped create.

It’s all fun and games until Trump fricks shite up in areas you’re actually an expert, and then you finally have an epiphany.

They're all already paid off. I buy foreclosures needing work and pay cash so I have equity from the start.

and going up in value

Values in my market are down around 2% this year IIRC and predicted to decline another 3.5% next year. That was before 7% rates. I cant imagine what will happen now.

while complaining about the economy

I don't live in the here and now. Did that once and got caught off guard by the 2008 crash.

No matter how you slice it, the housing market is stagnant and 7% rates will not rejuvenate it.

So if they’re down how is the economy shite? You’re getting ready to step in your own doo doo by answering that while contradicting your own argument.

Yea, man, things would be so much better with the cackling hen who wanted to give $25K to people to buy a house. No way would that have been bad!

My first house had a 10.95% interest rate. I was a high school graduate and 19. Let me know when house interest rates reach that level.

In an ideal market, mortgage rates wouldn't be dictated by the 10-year Treasury yield. While the underlying financial logic is sound, the real issue stems from a lack of institutional restraint in government spending and borrowing
