Because the only factor affecting housing affordability 30+ years ago vs today is rates?

Rates matter, but don't ignore the whole picture.

What do you mean wut? You make a thread about a poor economy as your assets go up in value and are still rented out during all time high rent. Your market may be down 2-3% which I really don’t believe as you already acknowledged your own property values have went up. That’s either a poor investment in a bad area but regardless you’re still renting at an all time high with occupancy on a paid off asset. The occupancy at high rent shows the economy may be bad still afford all time rent prices while you still make all time rent during the same time. So how is this affecting you?

I’m actually not even mad at these comments as OP needs to learn a lesson.

Is there anything you would criticize Trump about?

Again, we lost a ton of houses during the hurricanes and have massive LNG facilities being built. I am in an area of rental shortage. Unless Trump threw Hurricane Laura and Delta at us 6 weeks apart, then I am not sure how you think I should give him credit for that.

What does it being paid off have to do with anything? I used my cash from owning a business for the past 25 years to pay them off.

People working at the LNG facility in Cameron get at least a $150 per day per diem. Again, we are in a unique bubble

Well, $160 to fill up my Diesel company truck isn't fun, but even past that, I am also looking to the future. If you don't see broader implications if we keep going, where rates could potentially hit 10%, then that is on you.

Also, building materials were on a nice decline before the war. That in fact did benefit me. Lumber was trading around $470 in June of 2024. The last I looked it people were cheering because it was down to the high $500s, coming off of several months of trading in the mid $600s

Your house cost $5 boomer. It’s amazing how the country has gone down the shitter under your watch and the response is always “well I got mine when things were handed to me by the greatest generation!”

Just the worst generation in the history of this country.

My god dude. I so wish admin would put a mute button. They have let so many of you losers on here that pretend to be part of a party that you are not. You are straight liberal, along with several others like you that are playing games on here. The good news it that it won't work when it comes time to vote. They still aren't going to vote for your Socialism....at least enough to move the country to a Marxist country.

That's so funny. Boomers were the hardest working generation that this country has ever had....aside from what came before them. The worst is what we have out there now in the 30s and 40s. Lazy, impatient, spoiled. I live in a rural area and almost everyone hard working person I know is doing well. Then you have people like you, blaming everything for your own shortcomings in life.

This country has been dead for over decade. The “conservative strong hold” of Texas will be 80% non foundational Americans in a decade or two. All came from places that love socialism.
