Whether you think Israel is a good actor or a bad one, they know that neck of the woods very well (far better than US), and Israeli intelligence gets it right far more than it gets it wrong.
If they believe Iran is that close to getting a nuclear weapon and they’re willing to risk going on the offense directly against Iran without the US helping, that tells me they have irrefutable evidence. If Iran gets nuclear weapons, Israel is gone.
So what exactly would you have Israel do? Sit back and do nothing, or do what it has to in order to survive?

That is so totally false. Israel is rebuked at every turn by the whole world. Just look at the history of votes in the UN. Every Muslim/Arab nation's leader stays in power because they turn their citizen anger against Israel. aka "Evil Jews". They are not the instigator, they have been under siege for decades.
