The longshoremen's union has been worthless and violent for decades. In New Orleans, a shipper is required to call out a crew of longshoremen even if no longshoremen are needed to load their cargo. This is a union that needs to go away.

Today's unions basically are blackmail. Give me a or I'll do b. Longshoreman average $39 per hour which is $81K per year but, many, make over $150K when overtime is figured in. It appears they are asking for overtime rates to be the base pay. Not bad for "non-college educated", right libs?

Notice how they are still handling cruise ships? So they won't receive building material to help people in North Carolina, but they will happily put them on a cruise ship to the Bahamas. Seems military aid is still being sent to the Ukraine as well.

How long can it be before management just says "frick off union. We aren't renewing the contract, and will hire non union workers."
