I’m not anti-union as I do think they serve a broader purpose. With that said, kick this guy to the streets if his argument is around Covid. Yeah I will take make my chances driving a fork lift on a dock. A lot of folks had it much worse trying to make ends meet during that time.

They aren’t in every single port are they? I don’t think they are? The answer here is to put federal money into the ports that aren’t ran by the union, to decrease their power.

I don’t have a real issue with this union, the absolute bullshite issue here is that we have 2 unions total and they can shut down 1/2 the imports/ exports each. They need to have their power reduced by controlling fewer ports

Everyone is discussing what’s coming in, this is bound to reduce what’s going out also. Things like bourbon, corn, grain, etc. correct?

Sure, the dollar figures coming in are likely much much greater because Americans are actually buying it where as we are giving tons of that crap away that’s going out

It’s like this; they are fighting for their literal way of life. I hate for them, cause it’s a losing battle; but, they see that they are making everything automative and replacing their jobs…so they are using the only leverage they have, but they have to know this only worsens their stance, but they see their only chance is to strike while Joe is in Office, as they see weakness right before the election, but also bad timing with a disaster, so optics ain’t good…

He's a POS .... but that's typical of longshoremen as a whole, especially those in NY and Boston.

He'll regret showing no heart for we storm victims in the long run .... it'll cost him and his union. He could postpone this and curry some favor ... but his arse will regret this timing he's chosen to adhere-to.

Wow this thread shows just how anti labor many opinions are on here. Americans workers demand raises we start calling to bring in immigrants. Immigrants come in and they're taking jobs away from Americans for cheaper.....

Democrats bitching about Trumps tariffs being a tax on consumers. Well, when Joe caves to,these folks and the handling cost goes up is that not a tax on every damn thing coming into these ports whether there is a tariff on it or not?

Send in an experienced Amazon distribution manager, an IT person, and a slightly smaller budget than what they're running with now and he'll have it going in two days.

then bust this fricking union if that's how they see it.
