As do your opinions on a horrible Chinese economy.

I’ll say this: As devastating as this is for China…if they can somehow rebound with a more balanced economy less reliant on deception, IP theft, and manufacturing of cheap goods for export….they will be on a better, more sustainable footing in the long run. They need to be at that place soon given their demographic problem.

Most likely scenario is that they blink with the trade war with the US and end up having to replicate those deals with other countries. They will concede some things to restart some production and fall back into the same old bad habits but with more enemies, less wealth, and less GDP growth than they had before. South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, US, and Europe will grow stronger.

Thats tough to do when you have manipulated your currency to make exports cheaper and weakened your currency locally. And they were not working with great profit margins to begin with.

lol. USA is a third of the world’s consumption. Plants and logistics purpose-built to deliver to us. You think Europe is all of a sudden going to change to being consumer-driven like us? You think Africa, LATAM, or India and Russia are gonna step up? You think the Chinese want all this crap and can afford it? Canadians…yeah…Canadians… the country that does like 25% of their shopping in the US. The country with population of a large city?

Europeans are already voicing concern about opening the floodgates of "free trade" with China.

Europe has already taken steps in the past two years to decrease trade with china. To your point, its the msm who is screaming "europe will turn to china". Cars are a backbone of their economy, why do people think they would suddenly open their market to cheap chinese electric cars. You are seeing the green deal is just a unicorn when it comes to money, all a facade.

A consumer economy fueled by debt and a a currency that's being dropped like a hot potato. China has more consumers

Boy there are some ignorant posts on this thread. china has more debt than the US. They have more consumers, no they have more people, and they consume a lot less.

Now lets hear the ole "china thinks long term". The CCP has been in power less years than some people posting on this board. They dont think long term, thats why they cant make anything that lasts longer than five minutes.

Well lets just do it, like California raising the min wage of fast food workers to 20 bucks........

16,000 lost jobs
benefits were lost
the average price of food went up 14.5%

So runaway inflation.

Ford promoted a small amount of people into the middle class.

This is Zimbabwe level.

Despite all this China trade war talk I can buy more Chinese Yuan with one dollar than I ever have. 1 dollar = 7.3 Chinese Yuan right now. Back in October I could only get 7 Chinese Yuan with 1 U.S. dollar.

No. They'll sell them to us after paying a reduced tariff that is eventually negotiated and they will sell it cheap to get some cash flow before they go bankrupt. Prices come down without true deflation. America wins. China loses.

People think china is filled with middle class people who can purchase at the same pace as Americans. Even the stuff we consider cheap is expensive to a good portion of their country.

The farmers living off $2 USD a day aint looking to buy the stuff we buy.

China is absolutely screwed if America stops buying.
