No, the left-wing academicians want to cancel football because they think it's one more way to hurt Trump in November.
That's what this is all about. For the Left, the next 12 weeks is all about doing anything and everything, large and small, in attempt to remove THE TRUE OUTSIDER from the Oval Office so the Deep State can go back to business as usual.

Newsflash. College players are stupid. They're demanding 50% of ZERO dollars if the games are cancelled. Shut it all down. EVERY ONE of these players think they'll be millionaires in the NFL and they think they have a voice. SHUT IT DOWN. Now, what will they do ? My guess, riot and ask for free stuff for life. This is what academia has created.

College football was screwed the minute they decided they were a big money business. These blue-chippers largely don't give a crap about college, a degree or anything associated with it. They want to get rich in the NFL. College was never a minor league, but they acted like one. Now they're dealing with all the crap that comes with it.
Bring back true college athletes. Let the NFL develop their own talent. That's the only way college football will ever maintain without completely making a mockery out of student athletics as a whole.

These kids are being led astray by idiots that don't care about them.
The white protesters that have taken over BLM DON'T WATCH SPORTS. Those of us that do, are turned off by this mess. I frankly don't care if college sports exists, but I would be 100% happy if it is canceled, and reborn as actual intercollegiate sports played by real students.
Let the NFL form a minor league. Let these kids go play for the Rock in the XFL. Quit bastardizing college and pretending that these kids are "students."

Can't happen. Some of these sports, especially football need recovery time or the injuries will be extreme. You cant end football in June and start right back up in August.

Look, I love CFB and most college sports and truly love our Tigers. That said, if the players want to ruin CFB, if the "powers that be" want to ruin CFB by cancelling a season my life will go on. I will have 8 - 16 hours a week more in the fall to do something else - most likely hunting. I hope they don't but if they do so what? It is just sports.

The reason the season is being cancelled, is to save the lefty establishment from embarrassment. If they have the games on TV, and nobody watches, because of the woke arse stupidity, the players will realize how the world truly works, and won't be so easy to manipulate anymore.

I’ve been watching since the early-90’s. I was too young to realize it was a big business, but it obviously was. The scary thing is how much it has ramped up since then. The escalation of coaching salaries and building of facilities is insane. The big-time athletes really do live in a ‘bubble’ on campus.

A number of athletes seem to enjoy their time at a particular university. I think the love that Burrow and Tua have for LSU and Bama is genuine. BUT...these players are still mercenaries. It’s why the transfer portal has become such a normal part of the game.
