The only limits to my rights should be if they are infringing on someone else's. Me owning a certain type of gun in no way infringes on anyone else's rights and therefore any laws stopping me should be unconstitutional

Previously the ATFSaid they were ok, how do you make them illegal without offering compensation?

But those 'legislators' breaking the law by 'escorting' illegal invaders across the border will face not one consequence.

Why yes, yes there is! Key difference between Trump supporters and those who still worship at Hussein's altar.

What about my belt, rubber bands, and springs?

Doesn't the government have more important things to do?

TheFirearmBlog

this link has more information. Apparently belt loops, rubber bands, and springs are alternatives to bump stocks. Or you just go train with Jerry Miculek.

Alternative 3- Opportunity alternatives. Based on public comments, individuals wishing to replicate the effects of bump-stock-type devices could also use rubber bands, belt loops, or otherwise train their trigger finger to fire more rapidly. To the extent that individuals are capable of doing so, this would be their alternative to using bump-stock-

I don't own a bump stock, but I don't believe my possession of a piece of plastic on a particular calendar day makes me any more or less a criminal.

The first thing I wish they would do, is come to the realization that their answer to everything, shitty legislation, only applies to those who wish to abide by the law. The bastard that shot up all those people in Vegas obviously didn't give a damn about the law, as laws against murder are already on the books! No law-abiding citizen has ever used a bump stock to harm a soul.

Nah. You'll relent the second the the new regs are adopted.

Politically speaking, this is an awful hill to die on. It isn’t the slippery slope a lot of you are concerned about.

You aren’t even trying to have discussion. Clearly not. The prohibition of bump stocks isn’t doing anything to your rights. It’s reclassifying an accessory whose only purpose is to abrogate existing law.

Oh the discussion is real, but you refuse to see it from a patriotic perspective. You see, the guberment really likes to chip away at our rights, little by little. That way, instead of completely banning guns, which would start a full-on revolt, they slowly take "Accessories". Why ban a bump stock when I can accomplish the same thing with a rubber band and an AR-15? Want to know the answer? Because the AR-15 is next, and then something else and then something else. Blows my mind how easily people are ready to give up their sovereignty, but it is easier to "swallow" for those who don't see the big picture, whittle bit at a time...

Just genuinely curious why people would even have it.

Clearly you've never shot a gun with one. Fun as heck.
