The closest you will ever get to peace in that region you would have to completely remove Iran, Israel, and 'Palestine' (its not a country) all three are bad actors and do not want actual peace.

Gaza and Somalia are overwhelmingly Sunni.

Define "long period".

Do WWI and WWII ring any bells with you?

So the Muslim tribes weren’t fighting for the last 3 thousand years?

Christian Europe has been constantly at war as well. The last 80 years have probably been the most peaceful the continent has been in its Christian history, and it is at a time when it is the most secular it has ever been.

But even when the Ottomans were in control they were constantly having to quell rebelions.

Then after WWI broke out, they lost the ability to do that.

Where did you get that from?

Shia is almost non-existent in both Gaza and Somalia.

bullshite. Do you know anything about history at all?

There have been wars in that area for centuries well before 1948.

Ottoman Empire fought everyone. Egypt, Persia etc. etc.

“The Sunni-Shia conflict started immediately following the death of the Prophet Muhammad in 632 CE, triggered by a dispute over who should succeed him as the leader of the Islamic faith“

Okay you got me and I stand corrected
It’s been there for only 2658 years not 3000.

Of course that’s just the hatred for each other after Mohammed’s death. It’s not like they didn’t fight prior

Great point. The Christian kingdoms and duchies of Europe were constantly at war with each other up until, and even after, the monarchs were deposed by secular governments. Most of the time, the wars were instigated by the Pope who tended to take sides in the various conflicts.

I guess if you ignore everybody that the Ottoman Empire fought (the Persian Safavid, later Iran, Iraq, Anatolia, the Caucasus, Egypt), and the British, French, and Russia in WWI, the Gallipoli, Mesopotamian, Caucasus, and Sinai–Palestine campaigns, the Arab revolt against Ottoman rule, the Turkish War of Independence and more fighting with the British and the French after WWI, the Arab Revolt of 1936-1939, and all the attacks by Arabs on Jewish people prior to 1948 (do you want me to list those too?...there's a list), then sure, that's an accurate statement.

*Found the guy whose IDS far exceeds his knowledge of history.
