Pointless question because it won't happen. Either Trump runs or DeSantis runs. Not both.

The question only makes people on our side fight. And it's not even anything that will ever happen.

I want to see Trump go back in and finish what he started. He will be a much wiser man in his second term.

I also want my governor to stay right here in Florida for a second term.

It would be an epic closer for a Hardcore History episode 70 years down the line to end with this if Trump won in 2024:

Trump’s back, baby! And he’s got some scores to settle...

This is the line (with 9 upvotes already) that the Democrats and the media will push and push and push for the next 3 years to dissuade the Republicans from voting. "What's the use, they are going to steal it anyway?"

Hopefully, the Republicans will not be so easily tricked in the future as the idiots in Georgia were.

Great points, jeffsdad. Also, watch em, they'll proactively work at creating the situation of "Team Trump vs Team Desantis" and cause rifts and fractures and discord amongst what should be a single, solitary, unified voting block. I believe the Democrats call this a "coalition of voters".

Trump/Desantis would be good long term. Voting issues are hopefully reigned in.

If anything Trump will take the grunt of the criticism during the primary. Maybe even by design.

Either way we don't need total fails like Georgia again.

The Dems know damn well how bad they lost the last election; who thinks that they will leave the next one up for grabs? I think they won't even wait until the Midterms to rig things so they never lose a National election again. Yay Democracy.

Obama had a short window and they faltered; they won't let it happen again. Can't believe they haven't rammed through Amnesty and voting rights for all, yet.

The left will be galvanised against whoever Republicans nominate. They would destroy their own mother if she didn't fall in line with their groupthink. Give me a conservative willing to attack them right back.

I don’t think anyone runs against Trump if he decides he wants to run . Maybe mittens or a swamp rat. Desantis doesn’t , Rand doesn’t , and Cruz doesn’t . I think they have to much respect for him and applaud what he did in DC when he was there .

Wrong think by the right.

They called Bush a racist...etc.

They will galvanize regardless

The focus needs to be on 22.

Trump should concentrate on organizing a win for republicans in 22. I don't see how his continued insults of individual republicans helps that at all.

If he continues to berate republicans and continues to do nothing to help in 22 he should be banned from any republican ballot. DeSantis and Abbott would probably run if Trump continues to piss off the rest of the party. (McConnell raised over $70 million the last four years for campaigns---that means a lot among the actual candidates for the Senate.)

On the other hand he has an opportunity. If he rallies republicans and raises money across the country for republican candidates and works to strengthen the party he could very well run successfully in 2024.

Bush didn't galvanize people anything like Trump.

I'd vote DeSantis over Trump in a heartbeat right now.

Loved Trump's policies. Hated his childish antics that just worked people up that otherwise probably wouldn't have had much issue with him.

DeSantis hands down. Trump has too much baggage with him at this point and we need shite to get done to reverse the Marxist agenda.

DeSantis. I like Trump, supported him as soon as Rand was eliminated as a viable option in 2016. But at this point his candidacy is likely to cause more harm than good to the achievement of conservative ideals. Trump can, and should, have tremendous political influence in the movement as an unelected ideological leader, fundraiser, etc.

Trump paved the way for a transformation of the Republican Party, which was incredibly overdue and necessary. He has achieved that and now it is time for a new crop of leaders that reflect Trumpian views but do not carry the Trump baggage. This is the path to meaningful victory IMO.
