Trump will not run again, not at his age. He will be a major force in the party, but no way he runs. That's why they are attacking Desantis now. They know.

Trump was pretty big government. I'd rather try someone else that has some fight but the next supposed conservative President will have to be a fighter... and by fight, I mean roll back this craziness we have seen over the past 20 years.

I could go with Desantis if he takes the America First movement and doesn’t backdown. I think Trump would be a great person to have backing Desantis and holding America First rallies to support Desantis run.

Good question.

Whoever I thought would win, but....

Trump.

I side on non-politicians before politicians hitherforth if given the opportunity.

DeSantis for three reasons.

1. Age factor--to put in Democrat terms the Republicans need their version of Bill Clinton or Obama age wise, not Joe Biden or John Kerry.

2. Lack of personal baggage--no business/university bankruptcies and failures, no locker room talk tapes, or any other kind of dirt to deal with.

3. Better political advisors than Ivanka and Kushner bending his ears.

Sounds like Rand Paul but this country isn't sane enough to elect someone like him.

Right now I would lean DeSantis if he pushed the America First policies.
Many are right that he doesn't have the baggage that President Trump has and would be more appealing to the soft feelings moderate voters.

OTOH Let's not forget that President Trump still got over 72 million votes, more than any Republican ever, even with all that baggage.

Either one is a win for America.

The ideal outcome is Desantis President and Trump VP so desantis can do all the Presidential work and Trump can spend every day holding press conferences and shitting on the media

I'm not convinced DeSantis is some electoral juggernaut. He just beat ANDREW GILLUM by the skin of his teeth in the 2018 gubernatorial. Let that sink in.

Trump was far more convincing (in Florida) in both 2016 and 2020, in his margins of victory there.
