To the extent it's "successful" there is because until very recently they paid nothing for their own defense (we did), thus, the $ they would spend on that can go to other things. Also, their low drug costs are subsidized by the American buyer. Small and up until the last decade homogeneous populations help.

Let's apply socialism to the 100 yard dash. As we all know blacks are generally genetically faster. Applying socialism to the 100 yard dash we would have to give most other races a 1 to 2 yard head start for equality. In fact let's do that and see how black DEMOCRAT sprinters react to that.
