I'm going to be loose with the timeline here. James Watson (co-discoverer of DNA double helix) died in November. He famously said many politically incorrect things over the years. Here are 2 of my favorites of his pertaining to fat people:

Richard Langworth, a leading Churchill scholar and author of Churchill by Himself, has stated that the quote cannot be found in any of Churchill's speeches, writings, or correspondence.
Langworth noted that Churchill was too politically astute to make such a backhanded compliment publicly, though he acknowledged that Churchill may have privately held similar sentiments about American delay.
The Yale Book of Quotations credits the general sentiment to Abba Eban (1967) rather than Churchill.
