It's real, otherwise there would not be cakes and cookies.

Benjamin Disraeli

The tone and tendency of liberalism...is to attack the institutions of the country under the name of reform and to make war on the manners and customs of the people under the pretext of progress.

The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own.

Patience is a necessary ingredient of genius.

We are not creatures of circumstance; we are creators of circumstance.

A member of Parliament to Disraeli: 'Sir, you will either die on the gallows or of some unspeakable disease.' That depends, Sir,' said Disraeli, 'whether I embrace your policies or your mistress.

How much easier it is to be critical than to be correct.

Decent quote. Bit similar to Churchill's young/old quote. Can't remember if it was yours or some other poster.

It's mine ... been using it for decades with my kids and grandkids.

I remember the exact moment it came to me at a lecture, in college in the mid 70s, about overpopulation predictions if the birthrate wasn't brought in check. It was the global warming grift of the time.

I presented the historical fact, to my sociology professor, that nature always took care of those problems and I cited the reasons all deadly plagues and viruses originate in China and Africa ... aling with starvation. Because of overpopulation and filth ... and that nature makes necessary corrections.

To which he scoffed, like I had insulted him, and he said that it was up to Democrats, on the left, to push birth control to keep people with my outlook from being born.

I laughed and said, "when nature gets out of kilter it Rights itself, it doesn't left itself," and the classroom erupted. It was a big class too.

In full disclosure I was President of the Young Republicans Chapter at the time .... and one of founders of our Freefall Parachute Club and President of my fraternity. I was also the Campus Campaign Chair for Strom Thurmond. So I was a target of this particular professor ... who left the University of SC two years later to work for Jimmy Carter. He was also a close friend of Dick Riley's ... who Jimmy Carter named as our first Secretary of Education. (One of my Econ professors went to work for the Carter admin as well.)
