I have tried to find the benefit of socialism or communism and I just don’t see it.

Capitalism seems like the only chance the average person would have to succeed.
In both socialism and communism, the wealth and power are concentrated in the hands of a few.
Capitalism is the same but outcomes are extremely more positively stratified. Yes, there may be some underclasses but there’s more positive “stratified layers” than there would be under socialism and especially communism.
I went into this with an open mind. And even if you were going to redistribute wealth, the curve would still smooth to a point where the majority of individuals would do worse off under socialism and communism then capitalism. There would be some that would do better but they’re layers at the polar extremes. The “middle class” would suffer the most.

Of course.

Look at the results of collectivism when it's been tried. No bueno.

All anyone needs to do is look at human migration. You see millions of people fleeing - or attempting to flee - communist/socialist countries for better economic opportunity in capitalist ones.
Hell, you even see it between our own states. You NEVER see anyone move the opposite way for economic prosperity. They may move for out for political reasons (Rosie), but eventually you read reports that they regret the decision

Capitalism is only successful when the government places limits on corporations and discourages effective monopolies. This hasn't been the case in our government for at least three decades. Corporations have purchased the politicians who should be protecting their constituents. The abrogation of this responsibility has caused a cascade effect where corporations are now the constituents the politicians answer to.

In the form of capitalism we have now, is this any different? What are the promises of socialism and communism that don't exist today in America?

You would see it if you didn't want to ever earn anything in your life.

No,. in socialism the wealth and power are distributed to everyone.

It is telling that capitalism is a required step of marxism/socialism/communism.
They actually need that to come first so that the things they give the government can be created to start with. They can't steal it until capitalism builds it.
But the main reason people support is it because corruption aka corporatism is often passed off as capitalism. And that's what we have going on now, people recognize the unfairness, they are told it's capitalism when it's not, and that leads to people having negative opinions of capitalism.
This sadly makes people embrace the socialism/communism under the illusion they will benefit from it and that things will be "fair".

Unfairness? You’re mad at corporations because it’s not fair? And you claim to not be a commie?

Gives me hope for you. Just can’t quite tell.

You're a fricking idiot. I'm obviously talking about the people in general, not myself. You took one part of what I said out of context to come to some bullshite conclusion.
For all your concern about communism and so forth, you sure as hell don't know much about it.

Just remember
Socialists/Communists build walls to prevent citizens from leaving
Capitalists build them to prevent foreigners from entering illegally.

One of the reasons is that capitalism does socialism better than communism does. The lazy indolent class that exists under our welfare systems are the direct result of capitalist tax-fueled socialist programs and that class would dry up overnight following a communist revolution.

You will have to excuse Eurocat he thinks France, England, Italy, etc. all have booming economies and that they haven’t been lurching forward economically for decades because unaffordable entitlements.

Socialism and communism work so well the common citizen never leaves the country
Capitalism at least gives us two ways to vote out the losers, ballot and wallet.

Don't be challenging people's feelings with historically supported facts.

Low information people who believe in unicorn poots and being on 'the right side of history' because letting the CHUDS win is literally the worst thing ever.
