You will have to excuse Eurocat he thinks France, England, Italy, etc. all have booming economies and that they haven’t been lurching forward economically for decades because unaffordable entitlements.
France is the perfect example of failing socialism.
Social programs are a larger percentage of GDP than the Soviet Union.
And those services only get worse and worse as time goes on.
So much so that people are revolting.
When socialism fails, communism is there to pick up the pieces.
It is almost as if this could have been predicted.

If capitalism didn’t work then the rest of the world wouldn’t be trying to sneak into the US.

There is no evidence to support this claim.

In both socialism and communism, the wealth and power are concentrated in the hands of a few.
There's the ideal and there's the reality (ie: once the chaos of human behavior is added to the mix).
Socialism/Communism are the Amway of economic systems. On paper they look and sound good because the economic behaviors of both consumers and regulators are very generalized and assumed benevolent. Supporters of these systems never go beyond this theory, and when they put it into practice and it begins to fail because people aren't always benevolent they attempt to force it. That force often ends up becoming masking.
For example, toward the end of the Soviet Union the country was still hunting whales and killing them in large numbers. They had no market for any part of the whale, except for the bureaucracy to mark it down as "economic activity."
The more socialism/communism in your system, the more homogeneous your population must be as such structure demands no one has more than anyone else. If it were a footrace, no one could run faster than the slowest person in order to ensure that all reached the finish line at the same time.
The most basic and natural form of exchange is barter. I give you this, if you give me that. Both parties agree and there's an exchange or there is disagreement and thus no exchange happens. Capitalism is barter as an economic system (ie: just on a larger scale and using an agreed-upon currency as a storehouse of value).

pretty simple. the people at the top and in control get filthy rich from stealing everything. their worthless, low-iq, despondent, miserable minions get to see everyone else miserable like them.

That's how things would most likely turn out based on the real world evidence that we have

Young people feel there should be no struggle. When they struggle they want to blame somebody. They blame who they feel aren’t struggling. Problem is that their struggle can get much much worse and they don’t have the experience to understand that. Add to that they’ve been indoctrinated by their liberal teachers/professors, most of whom have either failed in the real world or never attempted to survive in it by hiding in academia. In short…….communism is being romanticized by spoiled, indoctrinated children that think they’re superior to you because of their masters in liberal arts (that they’re pissed you won’t pay for) which qualifies them to get a septum piercing and pour coffee while 25yo blue collar Jim Bob has a wife, 2 kids and a starter home with lower monthly payments then their student loans (that they want you to pay for). They were told that the way to the American dream was education/indoctrination. They believed they would get the education and then it’d be easy and now they are finding out the truth. It’s never easy. It never gets easy. The American Dream is only obtained one way. Hard work……and they’re not really into that.

Everything is free. You don’t have to work. And everybody lives comfortably.

In the Soviet era, if a Russian saw a long line, he'd get into it even not knowing what was at the other end because he knew it would be something he needed or at least something he could trade for something he needed.

What will people do when they realize we are a socialist country already?
Posted on 10/25/26 at 3:58 pm to DiamondDog
A waste of time. There is no benefit.

Hold on, let's wait and see if he catches it...
No?
Okay, here goes:
"distributed by whom?"
Socialists seem to always think from the perspective that they will be a decider or "distributor." No one thinks "I can't wait to service septic tanks and get the same government allowance as my comrade at the ice cream shoppe."

Only lazy, bitching bums can see the benefit of communism....
These people who believe in socialism and communism WANT to be sheeple and have the gubment take care of them.
I am afraid that the world is steering left.....and that really sucks!

In the form of capitalism we have now, is this any different? What are the promises of socialism and communism that don't exist today in America?
bullshite. Let’s take Elon Musk. He came here with nothing end he’s the wealthiest man in the world because of an idea and a work ethic like few others.
Jeff Bezos - started selling books on the internet after leaving his job because he saw potential in the internet
Sam Walton - started from nothing twice.
Larry Page and Sergey Brin started google in a dorm room
Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak started apple in a garage
Just because you didn’t make it doesn’t mean that if your kids don’t have a great idea and an unwilling desire that they can’t make it work.
This country has more billionaires than any other. Many are self made.

The promise of socialism is that you don’t have to worry about anything, all of your needs are taken care of by the government. And we all know that government never does the basics well.
