1) She couldn't muster enough excitement from Dems in her own party to compete in the primaries
2) She's from CA which is already a lock to vote Dem
3) She has all kinds of baggage

Solid choice by Biden

Outside of her attack on Joe she ran a shitty campaign.

quote:

Mr. Rodriguez offered general, tentative answers that didn’t satisfy the room, according to two campaign officials directly familiar with the conversation. Some Harris aides sitting at the table could barely suppress their fury about what they saw as the undoing of a once-promising campaign. Their feelings were reflected days later by Kelly Mehlenbacher, the state operations director, in a blistering resignation letter obtained by The Times.

quote:

Yet, even to some Harris allies, her decline is more predictable than surprising. In one instance after another, Ms. Harris and her closest advisers made flawed decisions about which states to focus on, issues to emphasize and opponents to target, all the while refusing to make difficult personnel choices to impose order on an unwieldy campaign, according to more than 50 current and former campaign staff members and allies, most of whom spoke on condition of anonymity to disclose private conversations and assessments involving the candidate.

I checked DU and there was only one dissenter out of about 50 posts. Interesting.

In fairness, they've had weeks (if not longer) to talk themselves into it

Compare an SEC fanbase when a new coach is rumored vs. the day he's selected

They know Trump is going to pull double-digit numbers in black voters, they are scared shitless of this so picking her is nothing more than a desperate attempt to pander for those votes.

She couldn't pull enough black votes to keep her in the Democratic primary race, she's not going to pull them now. Many black women do not care for her as they know she got into politics by spreading her legs.

A black cop turned prosecutor.

She’s the exact antithesis of the BLM movement.

I’m willing to be they’re going to use her to try to distance themselves from the riots and blm stuff.

I don’t know.

The Biden/Harris ticket makes absolutely no sense at all.

It’s a straight up forfeit of the election

I doubt Biden could even get it up around Harris. He prefers sexual partners that can't fight back.

Some of that was related to ballot harvesting in far left states? Otherwise good point.

Blacks are going to vote 90-95% for Biden and Dems. This VP pick keeps them somewhat happy because she is black. This might also keep 5% that may go for Trump because of the economy prior to CV-19 and for his law and order stance.

The law and order aspect of KH will help hang on to that 5% as well, because a lot of them don't like what is happening in the streets.

Because she was an AG, this appeals to the fence walkers that are concerned about law and order.

The DNC knows that blacks will vote for Dems and the radicals will vote for the Dems. They can whine all they want, when it comes to voting they are voting emphatically for Biden. The DNC needs the fence walkers to feel secure about voting for Biden. A "law and order" VP helps them feel better about voting Dem. This is all about trying to sway those fence runners in Michigan, Penn, Ohio and nothing more.
