Being old, I was young when Detroit was America's richest city that was proud of its "progressive" government. Will NYC follow Detroit into progressive decline and ruin?

He's bankrupting them on purpose so he can gain more support for phase 2 of his plan which is just straight up asset seizure

Detroit's demise was caused by (or at least accelerated by) capitalism's need for cheap labor. Divestment. Decentralization and Offshoring ruined Detroit - those are tenets of capitalism, not communism.

I don't think he's that smart nor that forward thinking. These socialists truly believe they can create a utopia by over-taxing the wealthy to provide services which will be used and abused by the lower income brackets. They don't believe that personal accountability has anything to do with someone's ability to create wealth.

They will continue to drive businesses and wealthy people (conservative and liberal) out of that city and state. It will resemble a 3rd world country more and more. And they will keep filling it with immigrants that will love it and the false promises of free shite.

Capitalism made Detroit into a world-class city in every sense of the term, then unions came along and destroyed it. This is all well documented for anyone without frontal lobe damage.
