but he’s not winning in 2024.

He won't win because the people trying to push Desantis now and fighting the Trump side will sit home waiting to say "I told you so". It's the going to be the "mean tweets" of '24.

The same people that bash DeSantis for what donations he accepts will gladly support another candidate if Trump is behind them even if their coffers are full of donations from the same groups supporting DeSantis.

Women don't want their kids to grow up to be jerk offs....by and large. Social conservatives can accept imperfections in character . Independents want someone who is sane....and they tend to be conservative family people . They held their nose and voted for Trump over Hillary and by and large did it in 2020. But since the 2020 b.s.they want Trump gone.

The money wants Trump gone. Listen to the money. I remember in 2020 Sheldon Adelson had to be cajoled into giving money to Trump. Adelson was always generous with his money up until that.

See, this is the problem. Do you really think the establishment cares about woke or not woke? Really?

Sure fighting the woke cultural war is important but for the DC establishment they don't care which way the cultural winds blow. Not one iota.

What they care about are your policies on borders, trade and war. You can be stabbing babies just out of the womb or voting to ban abortion in all cases but if you have the right policy position on borders, trade and war you get DC establishment support. That's where they make their money and it's on the backs of the middle class.

It's because any non-Trump candidate will get support from the wing of the GOP that Trump declared nuclear war on, so, the implication is that support means that RDS will become their bitch. This same logic didn't apply to the KKK or David Duke endorsing Trump in 2016, though.

You're really comparing a few hundred yahoos with no power to the GOP establishment with hundreds of federal politicians, powerful donors, and access to hundreds of millions of dollars? Hopefully you can come up with a better excuse for how a politician that takes millions from establishment sources won't be beholden to their interests before the next election.

The Trump cultists are still in the denial phase

Trump cultists seem to be the only ones not willing to run back into the arms of the same people that gave us such wonderful candidates as McCain and Romney. They've failed us for decades but they'll get it right this time if we only vote for who they want. Talk about denial.

So what? They'd line up behind anyone not Trump. Can he help who supports him? While Trump was following Fauci on COVID, DeSantis went his own way. DeSantis is much more a leader than Trump.

The Lincoln Grifters are Dems now. Anyone who thinks they would support DeSantis shouldn't be allowed to drive

Who said he is establishment? I think he is a very good Governor so far and if he does face Trump in a primary and wins I will vote for him pending he remains in his positions. I think the establishment will try to use him to take out Trump then turn thier back on him too which in why I don't think it would be wise for him to run yet.

I don't understand, for the life of me, how this strange "war" got started. I'm a huge supporter of both Trump and Desantis. I would like to see Trump back in office in '24, and then Desantis in '28. The only disagreement I've had is with those who want to see Desantis in '24. The way I see it, Trump is our strongest leader, and he's also getting up in age. I'd like him to have the rightful 2nd term that was stolen from him, before we move on to Desantis, who has plenty of time and can wait his turn.

But now, I see people bashing Trump, or bashing Desantis, and I just don't get it. Now the two men, themselves, are supposedly feuding? Why? I don't see "establishment" in Desantis, at all.

Completely disagree. You don't have an entire governmental system cheat the country out of the candidate they lawfully elected, and just sit quietly. The only people who had a problem with him standing up for himself and the rule of law, are those who never supported him to begin with.

He hasn't been, to this point. But then you can name conservative after conservative who was sent to Washington, only to become a spineless, capitulating shitbag. If the establishment coopts DeSantis, funds him, brings him under their wing, then he is beholden to the very entity that has destroyed the conservative movement over the last 40 years.

Sure, we can name those people. But I can also look at pretty much all of them and say their track record wasn't "conservative" to begin with. We've always had "moderate" puppets like the Bush's, as the big "stars" on the right. Desantis' track record cannot be denied at this point to be very strongly conservative. So if people are going to hate on him because of some future version of himself that they've imagined, but haven't seen, then why support anyone?

Not bad. They haven’t even finished counting and already they have split us in half. Republicans are pathetic.
