Look at his policies. Look at his actions. Judge the man by what he has done not by what people label him.

He has blue collar roots from his Italian heritage. Mom was a nurse, dad was a technician installing Nielson rating boxes on tvs.

Guy is smart as shite so he went to Yale undergrad and Harvard law. He was an athlete playing college baseball.

He served in the Navy (JAG) and was deployed to Iraq to serve as legal advisor to SEAL Team 1.

In Congress he was founding member of the Freedom caucus and consistently advocated for conservative policies and values. Check his record. He was an early and consistent supporter of Trump and a vocal critic of the Mueller investigation and other bullshite that the establishment did to Trump.

As Governor he has been a stalwart conservative and basically a political badass in the face of constant criticism from the “establishment” and the left, including ABC/Disney, which would have made less principled and capable men back down and even crumble.

He’s an incredible asset to conservatives. He’s smart, his resume is flawless, there is basically zero baggage, he knows the enemy well and he’s shown he can govern circles around them.

I live in a very liberal area and my democratic friends can’t debate me about what Desantis has done. They have some platitudes of course but you can tell they have zero salient arguments about any negatives on Desantis. The media will try to tear him down but he’s smarter than them and he will expose them the same way Trump did but without alienating a huge part of the electorate. Like it or not you can be “right” all day long but if you alienate too much of the electorate such that you can’t get elected then what the hell good is that?

GOP would be foolish not to ride this guy to victory.

It's not about Trump.

None of this is about Trump.

It's about the movement that produced Trump.

The disgusted voters tired of being played lip service by their candidates and then having that candidate acting differently once in office.

Trade, war, immigration....the national issues that matter.

The establishment hates Trump because he wants free trade that's fair, a closed border and no more stupid wars.

The open border, more war sell outs donating to and lining up behind Desantis is a red flag.

I love Desantis, but why doesn't he align with Trump and against the Paul Ryans of the world.

Does Desantis still support TPP? Will he finish the wall? Paul Ryan didn't want Trump getting ten cents for the wall in spite of the fact it was maybe the biggest reason Trump was elected.

Looking forward to a spirited primary if Desantis takes it on.

I was pretty loyal until lately. He doesn't realize how much damage he's doing to the party and himself.

This is a massive establishment recorded vote.

Most people don't understand why this is an establishment move but all Wall Street donors who are big equity holders in multinational corporations know.

I get the fervor for a non traditional candidate, but I don't get the exclusionary litmus test type activity coming from that camp.

Isolating potential allies are what did Trump in. Not mean tweets that pissed off housewives. The base gets whittled down even more post election due to even more exclusionary rhetoric.

That is small potatoes.

Trump signed into law the 2018 Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Act.

Trump signed the law that actually helped bring down (think Hunter Biden laptop suppression).

This was detailed in the story done by the Intercept that came out last week. Everyone should read.

This was a pure inside DC/establishment/big government law that someone like Rand Paul won't sign in a million years.

Trump used to fully support Desantis. Trump has a history of supporting people who end up being establishment hacks. I'm not saying Desantis is. I'm just saying that trump has a poor track record and often supports the wrong people.

I like trump, but I second guess everyone he supports, it can't be helped.

His policies in Florida are 10 out of 10 for what conservatives on this board are calling for. Their only issue with him is that he isn’t Trump.

What party?

If you win with a Paul Ryan candidate, you haven't won shite.

Let's hear from Desantis on Ryan, McConnell and Romney.

He's a big boy.

Even odder about these people is that everyone is a sheep fooled by the MSM so they link you to Bannon or other random far right sites with deep state conspiracies and accept those as their truth

This same logic didn't apply to the KKK or David Duke endorsing Trump in 2016, though.

How many hundreds of millions of dollars did the KKK or David Duke give Trump? Your logic is horseshite then, as usual.

He still supports DeSantis to the extent that he voted for him two days ago.

This is not about Trump or DeSantis. This is about the populist MAGA movement versus the GOP establishment side of the DC Uniparty. Trump is only a figure head of the current MAGA movement. It might as well be DeSantis.

But people with clear eyes can see that DeSantis is in the process of being captured by the GOP establishment DC money interest. They need DeSantis as their figurehead because they believe they can use DeSantis to divide the populist MAGA movement.

This is not the GOPe's first rodeo. They played the same games in 2014 against the Tea Party uprising. The difference this time is that there are more people aware of the DC establishment maneuvers.

There's an obvious reason for this. While it's true that the establishment hates Trump, they also feel like DeSantis has the better chance to win the general election in 2024.
