How does the US salvage the FBI?

It’s become plainly obvious during Trump’s first term that they are a publicly funded political organization that lies on FISA applications, leaks 302 information, and uses highly flawed DNC funded opposition research to attack Clinton enemies.

They just need a massive purge and overhaul of hiring practices.
I would place someone in charge with no DC experience, possible a state AG or head of a state law enforcement agency, like the Texas Rangers. Give them broad authority to clean house.

They operate just like any law enforcement organization sadly. Once you give someone a hammer everything is a nail and they will use any means necessary to hammer.

Move HQ to manhattan KS (or maybe western Nebraska). Fire all leadership in positions of management more than 2 years. Restructure entirely with narrow scope, roughly 1/5th present size.

Seriously though, I would fire pretty much everyone in an executive capacity and replace them. I would also probably look closely at whichever agents are handling the high profile cases to see if we have more shitbirds in there intentionally pulling shite like Sztrok et all.

A full, invasive audit of each and every case ongoing needs to be performed to determine each individuals duties, and worth, and get rid of the political hacks. The FBI has NO CREDIBILITY anymore. They are too busy investigating ropes @ nascar, or a Trump caravan in Houston than they are legitimate crimes against this nation.
You also MUST try, convict, and sentence the likes of Comey, Brennan, Wray, and others and give them LONG SENTENCES to disuade this type of thing from ever happening again. They are traitors, and should be tried as such.
