My honest opinion?


1) i personally believe DeSantis is doing this for populism reasons and i don’t think policy decisions should be made because they are popular, they should be made because they are well researched and are correct

2) this has nothing to do with grooming/pedophiles - grooming got inserted by his Spox - this is retribution for publicly opposing him - he has a history of being petty …this is petty


3) if DeSantis was sincere about sending a message about grooming etc - he would have eliminated their corporate tax write off that they get…he didn’t touch that? Why? Bc it’s not about that- he wanted headlines and that’s what he got. Why was Disney silent on this? Bc they know this bill was meaningless and they didn’t want real damage.

4) no where in any press conference or committee hearing or debate on senate floor (the house debate got silenced bc of a dumb sit in by house Ds on a previous bill) was grooming a reason for this - it was ALL about punishing Disney for speaking out again the bill (as I’ve says… they only spoke to press- no Disney lobbyist registered to lobby the don’t say gay bill)
