You're the one who is wrong here.

The Bible basically says that Israel is for the Jews. Christians believe the Bible is the word of God. Therefore, Christians believe that Israel will be the seat of Christian power upon the return of, Jesus. There will be a mass conversion of the Jews to Christianity upon His return.
That's the prophecy anyway.
Women and their faith have been tools of politics (in this country) since the 2nd Great Awakening. The Temperance movement(s) and feminism in general have made women political tools.
After WW2, our political leaders submitted to the advice of their mothers and wives. Most of whom were deeply affected by the holocaust and the suffering of the Jews. This is what led to the establishment of the Nation of Israel and we still deal with these decisions to this day.
In a lot of ways the push toward liberalism is a direct "feature" of protestantism in the US, and the Zionists directly benefit from this.

Your mom is right. Israel is our only true ally in the Middle East.
True. If Israel was located in Europe we wouldn't be helping them if they were having problems with Poland.

Maybe it’s not her that needs convincing?

Good thing we are not.

Well, that's because we set them up in 1948 and also set them up with military kill power. Of course they're our ally.
I'm a conservative reformed theology Christian who happens to think God is sovereign enough that his people (his worldwide church, not specifically Israel) are kept in his hand. We know how the story ends.
To say that the US *must* preserve the nation state of Israel is misunderstanding of eschatology. There is this twisted version of American evangelism that thinks America has a special place in Revelation and a specific hand in some of those events.

Conflict over land, resources and religion has been occuring since the beginning of humanity. Israel and/or the Jews isn't the root of all problems contrary to what some smooth brains here believe.
No one in this thread has said what is bolded. Anyway,

Israel was granted "major non-NATO ally" status in 1989, giving it access to expanded weapons systems and opportunities to bid on U.S. defense contracts. The United States maintained grant aid to Israel at $3 billion annually and implemented a free trade agreement in 1985.
Why have all of our major conflicts been in the middle east since this great patnership was established? It seems like an interesting coincidence. There are plenty of other resource rich nations we could have brought democracy to.

Well, let's see .......they didn't exist until 1948 so their history is short .......
Why follow our stupidity into Viet Nam or Korea?
Iraq, for what reason?
Afghanistan who nobody has survived tribal warfare ......
What was your question again?

Nor would Israel be having problems with Poland since the Pols aren't jihadists.

Who is a bigger ally in the Middle East?

But that being said, we shouldn’t just give them a frickload of supplies they should have to pay for it,
US aid to Israel from 1951 to 2022 totaled $317.9 billion. Compare that to Ukraine from the time of Putin invading. Let me help... U.S. Congress has voted through five bills that have provided Ukraine with ongoing aid, doing so most recently in April 2024. The total budget authority under these bills—the “headline” figure often cited by news media—is $175 billion.
Israelis now invest close to $24 billion in the United States. How much do Ukrainians invest here?
In short... you are simply.... WRONG

I agree with the first part. I have long thought it odd how people in my Church and other churches feel Israel can do no wrong. When I was younger it really bothered me, now it does not. Not sure why I quit letting it bother me.
But I also believe this:
- I am fine giving Israel aid if they are the ones on the front lines in the fight against Iran and it's proxies.
- I cannot think of a greater ally we have right now. Maybe equals, but at least Israel contributes a lot to their own defense, unlike many of our western European allies
- I am fairly certain it is U.S. policy for Israel not to help us in military conflicts in that it would hurt our ability to ally with other Arab and Muslim nations. Same with having bases in Israel

Just do what Fatlock does... Simply insist its so, and call her stupid, over and over and over again until she's willing to bomb Israel herself just to get you to stfu.

The partnership was established around the same time the controlling Ottoman empire fell and the world has been more and more reliant on the fossil fuels, which are abundant in the middle east. Seems like coincidence rather than causality.
