the US would lose WWII if it happened now.
We would be trying to cut a deal with the Germans and japps for no more boom boom on pearl harbor, and maybe being more discrete with the death camps.
We have totally lost our stomach and our way.
The end of us isn't that far off. Just hope I die before our political class completley gives it away.
You would rather a deal?
What's his number?
Ill shoot it over post haste!

Right, but they want to keep using it as a negotiation point. Take it off the table. Fully.

We are the literal only ones who follow the Geneva convention. All of our enemies dont.
Its a handcuff on Americans. Thats all it is.
You're OK with that?

You're OK with that?
Why? How is it worse than what we are doing. How wouldn't it achieve our goals?

So long as its red... and in crayon. Ill allow it
Yeah? What was that?
Please. Name, rank, and mos sir?
You weren't shite.
Your the defeatist who believes we will find a deal.
You have proven in your comments that you dont have what it takes to win against someone who doesn't give a frick
Hope you dont mean iraq and Afghanistan.
I have several friends who are dead and their family members would love to tear your throat out if so.
Just curious
Eta. Nevermind. One eas a nothing campaign and one was a beat down that you clearly had nothing to do with or executing beyond drone level work.
And... had you been successful in the latter we wouldn't have been back in 2003.

What are the risks? Everyone k ows whats there. They k ow what they have to do to pass. Alternative routes develop.
Its a win any way you look at it.
Anyone off course and getting hit by one knew what they were doing beforehand

And the easiest way to do that is to mine it.
Or would you be ok being on constant 14 month deployment?

You just enjoy being boondoggle in a quagmire. You, and your ilk are the reason for every shitshow post ww2. Including this one.
Should have followed us approved route. Thats on them
So, taking Iran's main negotiation point off the table is not viable?
This is why we haven't succeeded in any military conflict since ww2.
Find your balls

Who cares? Alternitive routes develop and south America boom is imminent.
The ones who do will profit.
The ones who do will profit.
Its not at all a strange topic. We could completley control it with lanes of shipping we approve.
Cuts Iran's legs off. Takes a negotiation point off the table. And allows us to reduce assets in the arena.
Or do you just like spending on nothing just because?

You wouldnt need half the assets we currently have.

Yet not one reply how this isn't a more effective plan than what we have done or intend to do.
Semper gumby... and all that

Very much so. Standard reply to that type of comment
We save money and allow our resources to be utilized elsewhere. If we mine it we need minniminal support staff.
Thats the bennifit.
Not to mention we could allow through anyone we wanted...
They can't use it, and it doesn't cost a fortune to secure it.
We can focus air power on their overland routes and choke them out
