It’s a service. In its simplest terms, it’s a form of labor.

By saying it’s a “right”, you are essentially saying that are entitled to the labor of another human being either directly (free service directly from a physician) or indirectly (free labor from a taxpayer who then pays the physician on your behalf). Either way, you are forcing another human being to perform labor. For You. Pretty sure we did away with that in this country 150+ years ago.

So frick you “mah health care rights” assholes. Get a job and pay for your health care like the rest of us. No one owes you shite.

Even if the government does make it a right, it is a meaningless move because health resources are finite.

Rights are not material things. They are govt protections for actions individuals can take

Correct. Rights are god given and would exist in a vacuum. Finite things by definition cannot be a right.

When you ask the rights folks to clarify how much healthcare is included within this right, the argument unravels pretty quickly. Plus access to healthcare is not the same as payment for healthcare.

Clarity along such lines would be helpful, but the devil is in the details so don't expect much.

Never understood that either b/c it's not a right at all.

You can't force a doctor's service on someone

Someone said the other day that water isn't seen as a right. I would say water is truly a necessity... We pay for our water in this country.

How can water not be considered more of a right than damn healthcare? Why are we paying for our DAMN WATER???!!!

Indeed. Neal Boortz has been making this very point for 20+ years, when he had his radio show.

If it’s a “right,” why wasn’t it written into the original Bill of Rights?

We are paying for the service to bring water inside our houses is how you can justify the payments. But, some states do outlaw collecting rain water. Strange.

I don’t think health care is a right, but similarly the bill of rights wasn’t meant to be an exhaustive list of your rights. It doesn’t grant rights...

Here's another insight. Hospitals are NOT run by doctors. They are run by business men. If you make health care free and the govt pays $5 a night for your hospital room, those business men are gonna close down the hospital and start another business.

The only right to healthcare we have is the opportunity of choice between public or private insurance

They used to just play word games and conflate the right to access healthcare and the right to healthcare itself (which is a preposterous concept). Now they just say everyone, not just Americans, has the right to free healthcare care and it’s the American people’s job to pay for it.

Do you know why the right gets a bad rep? Because they are all narrow minded that it's like trying to reason with a caveman, you're just not evolved enough to be able to put yourself in someone else's position.

Right Winger - "grunt" I have Job. I have health care. "Grunt" everbody just like me, so you get job. you get health care. you get no job you get no healthcare. "grunt"

Hey numbnuts, not everybody is of able body to work a 40 hr job that provides benefits.

I'd tweak this a little and say that rights are endowed by God and enforced by God (usually only in eternity) and not created by man. If a man can create rights, they can take them away.
