Funny,I didn't know that you knew me in real life to make that assumption. It's also fact that at least 1 of the 4 of you that are arguing this with me are living paycheck to paycheck if not all 4 of you. And don't start feeding us with a bunch of BS of how successful and rich you are. I don't care to hear it.

Taxpayer-funded Healthcare is a right.
Taxpayer-funded Abortion is a right.
Taxpayer-funded Housing is a right.
Taxpayer-funded Genital Mutilation Surgery is a right.
Working? It's totally optional.

Others on here would say it's because of your bad decisions, I wouldn't say that.

So what is the point of the 78% statistic? Are you suggesting that I am somehow responsible for addressing it? Or perhaps your suggestion is that we have a collective responsibility to address it? OK . . . I'll bite. What's your answer? How do WE make sure that our neighbors escape this awful plight?

As of right now 9 fools have down voted OP.
That means 9 damn fools knows absolutely NOTHING about the Constitution.
Hey libtards, is it really that hard to comprehend the world around you?

I think that is our problem is that there is no clear answer on how to fix it. But it starts with healthcare, one reason people get into a never ending cycle of debt, also is brought on by student debt. There has to be someway to provide a relief in both healthcare and student debt just for starters.

It's called personal responsibility.

You should have paid attention in statistics class instead of crying victim on here.

Not at all my problem. I didn't ask for help paying mine back and I certainly don't see where it's my "responsibility" to help someone else pay theirs back.

If you don't have kids out of wedlock and finish high school, you're nearly guaranteed to not live in poverty. You can then get a job and pay off your student loans. You do realize student loan debt is outrageous because it's government subsidized, right?

I don't give a frick about your semantics. We should make sure nobody goes without healthcare, period.

Correct. Rights are god given and would exist in a vacuum. Finite things by definition cannot be a right.
Any human rights are actually self created as a species. We can decide as a community what we consider rights based on our moral fabric.

So no infection should go untreated.
Right down to a hangnail.
Cough drops should be covered. Right?
Over the counter meds?

We do. Present yourself to an ER. They legally can't turn you away.

That is absolutely not what a right is, in the western political sense
Rights exist in the state of nature before a government is erected. They are things you are allowed to do or conditions you deserve simply for being a human being. Men set up governments to protect those rights.
Here is the great French philosopher espousing the point
