I haven't lost any friends but saw a solid melt from a friends facebook,
This chick just recently got married over the summer. She had a MASSIVE post that TLDR version was "if you voted for Trump then you are a piece of shite."
Her new INLAWS commented on the facebook status and were like "we have been nothing but nice towards you and have taken you in as one of our own but I guess we are all pieces of shite"
Then a sister in a law responded with "well I think ill pass on Christmas with yall this year"
Eventually the OP came back with an apology and all, but snuck into it "you have all been nothing but great to me but I must ask...What if I was black, or Muslim, or a culture you didn't approve of. Because since you voted for Trump then you must feel that way."
I mean holy shite, some people have taken this shite WAYYYY to far.

I haven't lost any friends... I respect the rights of people to disagree with me. But I'm pretty sure some of my friends have lost me.

Wow I feel like we are the same person. My uncle hasn't spoken to me since the election. He got on Facebook ranting about it and calling several members of our family racist including his own father. Said we all might as well be in the KKK. We had arguments over Trump before the election. When I disproved him he would just rant on about something else. One time I thought we were going to fight.

As it turns out, the few people who no longer talk to me because of the election results were never my friends in the first place, so no haven't lost a single friend because my friends know how to lose with dignity.

I have friends I have made in the military that are from all over the country and live all over the globe with diverse political views and have not had one lost friendship due to differing political views. If you have a friend that is like that they need to look in the mirror and reevaluate their own life. If they are willing to throw away a friendship because you do not see eye to eye with them politically or tries to guilt you for the decision you made than that is their problem not yours.

I have unfollowed, deleted comments, even unfriended a handful of friends I considered abusive or trolls on FB. May not be done with this, either. I think some have done this with me also. We're all better off, IMO.

I don't have any social media, so haven't seen the stupid shite from acquantances. One friend did say they were ashamed for our country after the election and I just said "ok" and left it at that. Not worth getting into.

I mean, it is still going strong with a few of them. Literally 1-2 times a day they come back with another long diatribe about how hateful Trump supporters are, etc. All sorts of accusations and then the classic "Prove you're not XXX".

No, and I hope I don't. There is one lady at work who was an Obama and Clinton supporter who I actually have civil and believe it or not, enjoyable political discussions with for the last nine years. I've given her some space though because she's been a bit snarky since the election, but she'll come around.
