H1B pushback- seeing results

We have to keep the pressure up on the H1B visa issue. Made my way over to the reddit h1b LINK ( I know, spare me) and they are freaking out. many are self deporting

I love the 100k proposal....honestly its not enough but its a start
as one of the comments i read on Reddit said
1) they go after those abroad for fraud
2) they stop new people from coming
3) they go after the ones already here
most of the indians on the H1b sub are saying we are at number 2 and they recognize this is a bi partisan issue and are making plans to leave
shite there are 5 post a day asking about domestic travel in the US because they are scared shite less right now

I'm in favor of this, BUT, also understand that we have a culture in this country that needs to stop. It's a double standard but we all know who runs HR departments. DEI women. So they rationalize it as a 'just cause' to bring in H1b talent. These HR people all have college degrees and they insist that in order for them to consider you, then you must have a college degree. However, if you're coming from India, they don't care about that. They care about 'what certifications' they have, and here's the rub. In the US, students, like my son who is a junior studying for a degree in mechanical engineering and aerodynamics, must have a degree. But you don't need a degree to write code or put together a business software design and implementation. You need certifications. You need experience. The dotheads have those, while the young college graduate has a degree, which is a piece of paper that no longer is needed in the tech world. My future son-in-law has a Masters of Information Systems degree. It took him a year and a half to find a job in his chosen field. Everywhere around us, Jeets are now dominating the middle at, and upper management, complete. How are US citizen going to ever have a chance to learn? I say, bring them in to train US workers. Then, limit that to one-year and the US worker has to be hired at a rate of 3-to-1 for every H1b visa used. Then, the Jeet that got well paid gets to go home at the end of one-year. Can't stay and work for a different company. Has to go back and get inline, again, with another $100k+fee required.
That's how I'd handle it.

I also think on top of the 100k fee....should be a minimum salary requirement for h1b and all visa other than temporary farm work
if a guy from india is so important to your company, should have no problem putting the 100k up and paying him 500k a year because he is so much better than americans.

The increased fee needs to be retroactive, and all visas need to be limited to 3 years, period. That's plenty of time for the middlemen (Cognizant, TCS, Deloitte, IBM, etc.) to find US citizen or green card holder replacements. It's sad that I had to post my comment anonymously to avoid "racist" backlash from potential employers.

This is nuts. HB1's are doing the work people don't want to do or are only willing to do it for unreasonably high compensation. Try finding an electrical engineer for less than 80k these days.
They are like Mexicans but with degrees. Everything is more affordable with them here.
