yea I noticed you and goldennugget are pretty hardcore about it

i mean I just want to walk into a gas station and not be surrounded by sub 80 iq males from india or hear fricking the muslim having prayer and speaking to his relatives overseas in languages I cant understand

I just want my country back

Even in LC since the big industrial projects of the last 10-12 years its gotten fricking insane. I have to literally drive across town to find a gas station not staffed full of half looking retards brought in on h1b to be a gas station attendant. Its bullshite that I feel like im john rocker taking the #3 train in NYC

But we also have to stop the student visas too. Like look Im ok with bringing in some students from japan, china, other asian countries, some from europe and even some from SA and small amount from other places but the amount we are brining in is fricking nuts. Colleges are getting out of control...yea sure LSU is under 5% but places like stanford are 25%, MIT & Harvard is 30%, even publics like GA Tech are 10%

thats insane. Why as US taxpayers are we funding colleges that are choosing to take international students over US students? This is the whole reason colleges, like the job market, have gotten so insanely competitive to get in. even in the SEC, UGA, UF are 7%, vandy at almost 15% most are 5%. These are mainly big public state schools using public state tax dollars.

frick joe raghead from india or the middle east, they can go shite on a beach somewhere, no more college and close the loophole immediately that allows student visa to h1b visa.

why the frick would you need to pay an electrical engineer less than 80k?

market rate sets the price

you shouldnt be able to import 3rd world shite eating dumbass engineers from india to reset the market place.

the only thing nuts is you.

you can find plenty of electrical engineers and if you want to pay 80k...go higher one right out of school and train him. if not then pay market rate.

as far as making things cheaper....no they do not. they are driving the cost up of everything. Housing, food, public services, airline travel, etc. Same as illegals from south america. frick them...they have to go back.

I fricking despise people you. You make me very anti christian where I hope everything bad that could happen to you in terms of business...does. hope this bankrupts your company.

400k LCAs in Texas since 2021.

The increased fee needs to be retroactive, and all visas need to be limited to 3 years, period. That's plenty of time for the middlemen (Cognizant, TCS, Deloitte, IBM, etc.) to find US citizen or green card holder replacements. It's sad that I had to post my comment anonymously to avoid "racist" backlash from potential employers.

yep...100% needs to be retroactive. needs to be the next step

and yes 3 years....with extension of up to years with another fee of 250k and 5 years is absolute max.

we can train sailors in the navy to run nuclear reactors in less than a year...i promise we can find, train and pay americans to do these jobs

not to mention the median IQ in India is 75-83......sorry but there are not just millions upon millions of indian geniuses walking around. its estimated less than 2% of the population of India has an iq of 130 or above and only 0.35% that has an iq over 140. White males in America are double those percentages.

its all a fricking scam to hire for lower wages and suppress market forces

Think about it: a TOPS student brings in fees, and not much else. An out of state kid or an international student doesn't qualify for TOPS, and brings in $$$, often paid for by their government (at least in the case of the Saudis and the Chinese).

no i get that, from a schools standpoint just money wise...no brainer. from a culture standpoint...100% no brainer not to unless you are like an ivy and tout being diverse and number of countries people are from as a strength. but for a southern university, exact opposite you should do

what I dont get is why would our government allow this...essentially we are partially funding our competition but economically and military wise and in the case of the middle east funding and educating those that will go back and help build weapons to kill americans and jews in Israel.

I don't disagree, especially when it comes to research and IP theft at universities. Perhaps here lies the answer (this is for Q1 2025)

quote:

An Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal lobbying data shows that some of the universities in Trump’s crosshairs have dramatically increased spending this year compared to the first quarter of last year, hiring advocates on the Hill to represent their interests to lawmakers. Northwestern University, for example, has already spent more than $600,000 on federal lobbying this year, compared to $110,000 in the first quarter of 2024. Among individual institutions, Northwestern has spent by far the most on lobbying this year.

Lobbying Expenditures
Since the analysis is focused on research universities, many of which have come under attack by the Trump administration, Inside Higher Ed reviewed the lobbying expenditures primarily by members of the Association of American Universities. Together, they’ve spent almost $9 million this year.

Areas of focus, according to lobbying disclosures, include federal caps on indirect research cost reimbursements, endowment taxes, the upcoming appropriations bill, international student visa issues, athletics and various pieces of legislation, including the College Cost Reduction Act.

While Columbia has publicly conceded on many fronts, it has quietly worked through back channels in Congress, spending $270,000 on lobbying in the first quarter of 2025. Among the lobbying activities listed: “Outreach and monitoring related to … NSF Funding, and NIH funding, generally.”

Last year, the university spent $80,000 on lobbying in the first quarter and a total of $350,000 for 2024. Given Columbia’s spending so far this year, it is likely to surpass that in 2025.
Both Penn and Yale spent $250,000 in the first quarter of 2025, followed closely by Harvard at $230,000. Those are noticeable increases from last year, when Yale spent $180,000 on lobbying in the first quarter, Penn spent $150,000, and Harvard spent $130,000.

As far as I am concerned our entire tech industry should have some form of ITAR. Were getting to the point where technological advances come quick and they need to be secured.

This helps twofold because then it kicks out all the fricking non US Citizens

yea its fricking bullshite, all in on the scamming of the american people. frick the association of American Universities. Lobbying should be banned in that fashion if you accept public tax money.

and where the frick does all that money go? what did that 9 million go towards? cant just be dinners and golf outings....who got paid or what "charity" got paid on behalf of the congressman by these lobby groups?

infuriating!!!!!

Well for some reason, it’s not happening. The number of Indian workers has grown excessively in the last 4 years.

to me it really shows how little they really understand business too

his comment about finding an electrical engineer for 80k perfectly illustrates this

you can find an EE for under 80, but he will have very little experience and certainly is not going to be someone that graduated towards the top of the class. it will be someone that just skated by.

why is that? Because the peers to that business are paying more than 80k even starting out because market forces demand that.

so as a business you need to evaluate if hiring an EE for say 90k is going to be off set by additional business or by cost savings from no longer having to contract the work. If the answer is no....then no you dont need to hire an EE

and it should be illegal for you to go around market forces and hire a 3rd world shite head instead of paying market rates.

Try finding an H1B that has industrial experience along with some semblance of nuance and creativity.

I don't need a human calculator, I need an engineer that understands the problem, reliability threats, and can develop a comprehensive solution that meets code.

this is a very recent development, like last 6-8 weeks. I understand the growth and that is the reason for the pushback

honestly its really more of something that has happened in the last 2-4 weeks with the announcements from the executive branch in that time frame

its why the PM of india was whining yesterday.

go read the h1b sub on reddit and you will see.

tell me about it lol

to be fair....hard enough to get american engineers out the office to actually put their hands on stuff but thats a million times easier than getting an indian engineer and its even if you do get the indian guy......he has zero understanding of the actual constructability side of things. Thats a foreign language to them. they only understand what the book says and greenfield work. brownfield blows their minds.
