Let me introduce you to Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (REGGI). This is a multi state (northeast) cap and trade carbon market entity.
This organization helps with the buying and selling between entities. Then you have a whole other group of individuals at the local power company who determine the credits they need. Then a whole other group of bureaucrats at the state level to audit the process. Three large departments of high paid individuals, no doubt flying to these exotic places to look at the trees they rented.
They then put the cost of it on your utility bill.....but dont look for REGGI, nah its lumped in (in the case of Virginia who just rejoined) with an offshore wind tax, and some other environmental surtaxes and called a "transfer fee".
Why dont they just say Im gonna take fifty million from you, but you will save 50 million because Im not gonna run it through 15 ngos to pretend I give a shat about the environment??????

This is why Venezuela has been threatening Guyana with invasion.

This is also the same framework for pushing carbon capture and carbon sequestration. I was in a meeting a few months back where the primary profit path for this capture/sequestration company was to get 45Q tax credits and the secondary path was to sell energy created by their "green" energy generation (read: bio mass, read further: burning wood from logging) to these companies and countries with a mandate for energy to meet CBAM types of requirements.

Its a unique country very similar to Trinidad. English colony, gave up slavery and replaced with East Indian indentured servants. Lots of oil and gas. Only english speaking country in SA. They are actually part of the Caribbean trading partnership Caricom (so is Belize in Central America the only english speaking country there). They consider themselves Caribbean not SA.
The Venezuelan threat was a joke. I saw the pics of the tanks "poised to invade". To get to the population center of Guyana they would have to take the only road south for 11 hours, turn left and take the next road north for 11 hours. Problem is that 11 hours south is through Brazil who told Guyana, hold my beer and transferred a bunch of troops north. Southern command in the US told Maduro you are about to get a shatton of f16s up your arse and Maduro said....come on guys cant ya take a joke.
They are making good money on the deal with the oil companies. By the end of the year they will have paid off the 50 billion in capital they put in and will start splitting 50/50 the profits after production which is one of the lowest in the industry at about 30 bucks. So with oil at 90 bucks they will be banking 35 million a day plus natural gas, in a country of about 800K that was second poorest to Haiti only a few years back.
Amazing place, closest to the wild west there is today.

Yes that is correct. And some of the money they get is "supposed" to be tied to environmental issues. So he is building drainage, sluice gates, bridges........................but its all stuff they needed to stop flooding anyway under the guise of greening.
The guy is a great speaker, when some environmentalist from England questioned him about drilling for oil, he said "90% of our original rainforest is still in tact....England has zero thats zero original forest left.....next question".

The entire carbon credits and climate change hoax was to destabilize the US Dollar by Globalists. They were trying to shift global wealth by removing how oil was traded.
They have further sought to do that same thing via BRICS.
Before all of that climate hoax crap all oil traded worldwide was done via the US Dollar.

Guyana’s rapid expansion as an oil exporter is reshaping tanker demand across the Americas as increasing volumes of Western Hemisphere crude are directed towards Asian markets, according to S&P Global.
Production from Guyana’s Stabroek Block has now exceeded 900,000 barrels per day, with further growth expected as new offshore projects come on stream. Combined with rising output from Brazil, the US and Argentina, this is increasing the volume of crude available for export while extending the distances travelled by tankers.
