The amazing part that the extreme left doesn't seem to realize is that balance in life is the correct answer. You don't have to drive a car half a mile down the road to get something from the store but you will want to use to drive 10 miles. You don't have to stop eating meat for the planet to survive because that will throw things out of balance with the food chain. These extremes are something to behold.

This happened yesterday: I'm at the piggly wiggly and I saw some plant based Italian sausage, it had great packaging and looked like regular Italian sausage, I was going to fire up the grill for some steaks, so I thought what the hell, it's just 5 bucks, I'll try it.

Exactly. As a jew it's pretty hard to avoid beef in just about any big setting, but I'm cognizant of how bad beef specifically is on the environment so I've cut back a bit.
That should be the message: not DON'T eat meat, but maybe consider eating less.

I've never really understood the "anti-red meat" movement. This thing goes back as far as I can remember. From campaigns against red meat for its societal ills of saturated fats, cholesterol, methane gas, groundwater, etc, there is always some minority mob squawking about eliminating red meat.
If you don't like red meat, don't eat it. Just go away and leave the rest of us alone.
