These living relics will only continue to “serve” in DC at absurd ages because voters continue to blindly oblige and re-elect them. Over and over and over again.
Voters have always possessed the ability to term-limit the DC critters but rarely exercise that right.
In many ways, we have ended up with exactly the government we deserve because as a collective whole, we are lazy and ignorant when it comes to those who represent us.
Term limits would ultimately serve to protect us from ourselves.

A Senate seat is like a big corporation. No one just gives one up on either side.
Grassley has basically been a retired part timer for over a decade. The work is done by staff.
